lets not confuse people. consciousness is being treated as a trend today. wearing dreads, dashikis, and throwing up a fist does not label you as conscious. consciousness is found in a mind, a soul, a spirit. you cannot wear it. you speak it, you learn it, you teach it. we cannot judge a book by its cover. I know niggas who slang dope and trap rappers who have amazing and powerful minds who believe in themselves and others and I know people who dresses in these african clothing, wear dreads, and so on who cant pick up a book or article about his background, doesnt care to research on politics, or to better themselves. consciousness is being aware of your surroundings, awake, having knowledge, and in some cases of not fully understanding but WILLING to learn more, going out of your sheltered box to attempt to wanting to self educate. dont let no one judge you for being you. just because you dont look it, it doesn’t mean you are less educated.
