Constellation: ... Oh I wanted to tell you in a more exciting way, but I just don’t know how else to say it. It worked! I’m pregnant!

Jacqueline: You are?

Constellation: I am!

Jacqueline: That’s great, Constellation!

Jacqueline: Haha, I don’t think the baby is big enough to feel any kicks yet.

Constellation: Oh I know, but I’m so excited!

Jacqueline: I’ve been thinking about it a lot, and I’ve come to want it more and more the more I think about it. I’m ready.

Constellation: Weeeell, I was thinking... maybe it’s time to start meeting each other’s families?

Jacqueline: ... I don’t know, Constellation. I don’t think I’m ready yet.

Constellation: Oh come on. My family really wants to meet you. Please?

Jacqueline: It’s just not time yet, Constellation. I’m sorry.

Constellation: ... Ah well, it’s alright, I guess. We’ll just go whenever you’re ready. It’s no big deal.

Jacqueline: ...

Bear: So, when am I gonna get to meet this lovely lady? I’m getting tired of only ever hearing stories about her.

Constellation: Hopefully sometime soon, Dad. I’ll talk to her about it later. I’m sure she would love to meet you and the rest of the family.

Bear: So, is she all moved in, kiddo?

Constellation: Yep. She didn’t have too much stuff, so moving wasn’t too stressful.

Bear: That’s great, kid. I’m glad you finally found yourself a nice lady to settle down with.

Constellation: Me too, Dad, me too.

Jacqueline: I’m sorry. I’ve been super busy lately. I should be around more now, though.

college crisis

ranting about majors and shit below. I’m stressin’ y’all.

So, I’m currently a Japanese/International Business major. Monday I came into class, sat down, and realized I no longer liked Japanese. Don’t get me wrong, I still like the language itself, but I don’t like the classes anymore, and I honestly think I could get to a higher level studying by myself. The way the classes are set up is ridiculous, and I feel like I’m getting nothing done. I also don’t like business enough to study it by itself. It was just my backup plan/padding for Japanese.

Now I’m like, well, now what? I have no idea what I’m interested in that I could reasonably do at this point (I’m in my second year).

While I was sitting there in Japanese, I was bouncing ideas off the top of my head, and I thought, “You know, dermatology is pretty cool.”

So I sat on it and pondered it for the rest of the day, and I was like, yeah, let’s do that!

Well, it’s almost two days later and I’m starting to think a little more sensibly. While I’ve always thought medicine was interesting, I never saw myself having a career in it. I never saw myself studying it either. I’m not good in math. I’m pretty good at science, but good enough to pass the MCAT and get into med school? Idk. 

I’m still very much considering it as an option, but I don’t know. I almost feel like it’s too late for me. I haven’t taken any relevant sciences or maths, and I’ve already sunk so much time into business/Japanese. On top of that, envisioning myself as a doctor is so... foreign? It’s just something that never seriously crossed my mind until now. Of course I had thought about it, but I never sat down and said, “Yeah that’s something I might do.”

Anyone have any advice for me? I could really use it. :C

Constellation: Hey Jackie, what’s up?

Jacqueline: Hey Conny, I was just wondering if I could come by today.

Constellation: I would love that.

Jacqueline: Alright, I’ll be there soon!

Constellation: I’m tired. Let’s sit down.

Jacqueline: Constellation, this is the sidewalk.

Constellation: ... That may be true, but I’m so tired. I refuse to walk another step.

Jacqueline: You’re an interesting character, Constellation, but I won’t question it. I guess I’ll take a seat too.

Jacqueline: Huh. You can really see the stars from here. I’m surprised there’s not more light pollution.

Constellation: Yeah.

Jacqueline: ... ... ... ? !

Constellation: Hehe. I hope you don’t mind if I put my hand here.

Jacqueline: You’re pretty sly, you know that?
