All children develop speech at different rates, but we all need a bit of help along the way. And singing is really not too different from talking! Sing to speak aims to help Children aged 0-5 and their parent/carers enjoy the many benefits that music can bring to their life and relationship, while learning about their environment, strengthen their vocabularies, encourage activities, remember information and most importantly let them express themselves and build confidence through the power of Song and sounds. Music works in so many beautiful ways in the mind, emotionally to physically, its a therapy in itself...

Tiny Turtle

This one is great for the bath! and you can sign lots with this one too.... and who doesnt like turtles. I had a tiny turtle, (turtle in hand) his name is tiny tim, (tiny hand, and make a T shape.) I put him in the bathtub (make shape of bathtub) to see if he could swim, (swimming hands) he drank a glass of water (gurgle, gurgle, sip ) he ate a bar of Soap (nom,nom,nom) and now he's gone to sleep (sleeping hands), with bubbles in his throat (tickle throat) Bubbles, bubbles, bubbles, bubbles, bubbles bubbles (make bubble shapes floating everywhere) Buubbbblllleee (like rain going up) POP (clap hands)

Kids love worms, try finding some worms and singing this song to accompany your findings :)

I Love the Kodaly Hand signals for do re mi... I'm not sure of the science, but using your body while singing, just helps to imprint the intervals on your mind even more (with practice). Its fun too!
