Empathy Suit: Part 3
Part 1 | Part 2 | Epilogue
i wasn't sure I was gonna do a part 3 but it didn't feel right to end where it did, so here part 3
Ethan practically stumbled into the bedroom.
His heart pounded as he yanked off his stretched athletic shirt, then his shorts, leaving himself standing in nothing but his black athletic briefs.
For several long seconds he simply stared.
His body was no longer hidden beneath an empathy suit.
It was his.
His enormous rounded belly projected proudly in front of him, heavy enough that it naturally pulled his posture forward. His broad bodybuilder shoulders and massive arms were still unmistakably his, but now they framed a body that looked unmistakably full-term pregnant. His chest had become soft and full, resting gently above the curve of his belly.
He slowly rested both hands beneath it.
The weight was real.
As he shifted it slightly, his lower back immediately noticed the difference.
"...This can't be happening."
A gentle movement answered him from inside.
He froze.
Another tiny push rolled across the inside of his stomach.
The babies were moving again.
Emily stood silently in the bedroom doorway.
She wanted to say something—anything—but no words came.
She had expected an empathy suit.
She had never imagined this.
Still in disbelief, Ethan walked into the bathroom.
The man staring back from the mirror was almost unrecognizable.
His athletic briefs sat low beneath his huge belly, barely visible from the front. His hips were wider, his stance naturally broader to support the extra weight. His massive arms still looked capable of lifting enormous weights, but now they instinctively cradled the belly instead of flexing beside it.
Slowly he touched his chest.
It felt warm.
Tender.
A small bead of white milk appeared.
He stared.
"It...it's real."
He turned on the shower.
Warm water poured over his body.
As he washed away the dried sweat from the day before, he noticed something unexpected.
His body felt...
Comfortable.
Heavy.
Solid.
Supporting the underside of his belly somehow felt natural.
Running a hand across the smooth curve of it no longer seemed strange.
Instead...
It felt right.
Emily stepped into the bathroom after he called her.
"I...need a little help."
"What is it?"
"I can't reach everywhere anymore."
She smiled softly.
"Of course."
She helped wash the parts of his back and lower body that his belly now prevented him from reaching.
"I never thought I'd need help taking a shower," Ethan admitted with a quiet laugh.
Emily looked up at him.
"How are you doing?"
He thought for a long moment.
"I'm scared."
"I know."
"But..."
He rested both hands beneath his belly again.
"...I don't hate this."
Emily blinked.
"I actually...kind of like how it feels."
She couldn't help smiling.
"I was afraid you'd be miserable."
"I thought I would be."
He looked down again.
"I've spent years trying to make myself feel powerful."
He chuckled.
"I've never felt more vulnerable than I do right now."
Emily gently rested her hand beside his.
"And?"
"And somehow..."
He smiled.
"...it doesn't feel bad."
That evening they lay together in bed talking for hours.
There were still far more questions than answers.
Who had made the suit?
Why had it become real?
Could it be reversed?
Eventually they agreed on one thing.
Tomorrow they would see a doctor.
Sleep, however, proved nearly impossible.
The babies seemed most active after dark.
Every couple of hours Ethan carefully rolled onto his side, pushed himself upright, and struggled to climb out of bed.
"I've never had to use the bathroom this much," he muttered after another trip.
Emily only laughed.
"Welcome to my world."
On one trip back from the bathroom he paused in front of the refrigerator.
He frowned.
"What are you doing?" Emily called sleepily from the bedroom.
"...I suddenly really want pickles."
She raised an eyebrow.
"With ice cream?"
He looked down at the container already in his hands.
"...Apparently."
They both laughed.
Morning came much too quickly.
For one blissful second Ethan thought the previous day had been nothing more than an absurd dream.
Then he tried to roll over.
The familiar weight resting against the mattress instantly reminded him.
"...Right."
Emily helped him get dressed.
Finding clothes was difficult.
One of his largest athletic shirts stretched tightly across his chest and barely covered the upper half of his belly. His loosest athletic shorts fit only beneath the curve of his stomach.
"I can't believe these used to feel loose."
"They're trying their best," Emily teased.
The doctor's office was surprisingly calm.
The waiting room was full.
Nobody stared.
Nobody seemed surprised.
When Ethan's name was called, the doctor greeted him with a friendly smile.
"So...looks like you're almost there."
Ethan blinked.
"...Excuse me?"
The examination continued as though everything about the situation were perfectly ordinary.
The doctor listened to the babies' heartbeats, measured Ethan's belly, checked his vital signs, and smiled.
"Everything looks healthy."
Emily finally interrupted.
"Doctor...he wasn't pregnant two days ago."
The doctor looked puzzled.
"What do you mean?"
"This shouldn't be possible!"
He simply smiled reassuringly.
"First-time parents are often nervous."
Ethan and Emily exchanged worried glances.
It was as though everyone else believed this had always been normal.
On the drive home they stopped for food.
Again.
Ethan couldn't remember ever being this hungry.
The cashier congratulated them on the upcoming arrival.
A woman in the parking lot smiled.
"You must be due any day now."
Nobody questioned it.
Nobody even looked twice.
By the time they reached home, Ethan's uneasiness had only grown.
"I feel like we're the only two people who know something's wrong."
Emily nodded.
"I know."
They had barely stepped through the front door when Ethan suddenly froze.
He grabbed the kitchen counter.
"Ethan?"
He looked down in confusion.
Then...
A sudden warm gush spread downward.
His eyes widened.
He looked at Emily.
"I think..."
Another unmistakable gush followed.
"...my water just broke."
The two of them stared at each other for one stunned heartbeat.
Then Emily reached for the phone as Ethan instinctively wrapped both arms beneath his heavy belly, realizing that whatever magic had transformed him had reached its final stage.
Ethan had barely caught his breath after his water broke when another contraction slammed through him, forcing him to his knees. The pain was coming so quickly that there was no time to reach the hospital. Emily stay calm and help Ethan with each contraction Ethan gripped her hands, sweating and breathing as she encouraged him through every push. Minutes felt like hours before, with one final effort, their first baby entered the world.
Ethan hardly had time to recover before another contraction began, and together they realized the second baby was coming too. Emily calmly helped guide their second child into the world just moments later, both newborns crying loudly as she wrapped them in clean towels and laid them gently against Ethan's chest.
Ethan lying back against the couch, tears streaming down his face, with a healthy baby boy and baby girl resting safely in his arms while Emily sat beside him, equally emotional and relieved. Ethan looked down at the twins, gently kissing each tiny forehead before smiling at his wife. "I finally understand," he whispered. "Not just how hard pregnancy is... but why every second of it is worth it." Emily leaned against him as the four of them sat together, their impossible journey ending not with fear, but with the quiet joy of finally becoming a family.

Empathy Suit: Epilogue
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Bonus
Six months later, life looked nothing like Ethan had imagined.
Their home was no longer quiet.
It was filled with tiny cries, late-night feedings, diaper changes, and more laughter than either Ethan or Emily had ever thought possible.
The impossible pregnancy had ended with the safe arrival of two healthy babies—a boy and a girl.
The mystery of the strange website was never solved.
After the delivery, the pregnancy itself had ended, but Ethan's body never completely returned to the way it had been before.
His enormous belly had gradually shrunk over the following months, leaving him with a thick, powerful midsection instead of the perfectly sculpted abs he had spent years building. His broad chest remained fuller than before, and his widened hips and impressive glutes never disappeared.
At first, he fought it.
He tried dieting harder.
He tried adding extra cardio.
He even attempted to return to his old bodybuilding routine.
But every time he planned another two-hour workout, one of the babies would start crying.
Or Emily would need help.
Or dinner needed cooking.
Eventually, Ethan realized something.
His priorities had changed.
Instead of chasing the perfect physique, he focused on becoming the best husband and father he could be.
When he did make it to the gym, his workouts looked different.
Heavy carries.
Deadlifts.
Atlas stones.
Farmer's walks.
His body had naturally settled into something closer to a strongman than a bodybuilder—still unbelievably muscular, but thicker, heavier, and undeniably powerful.
The extra weight no longer bothered him.
In fact, carrying two babies at once around the house made him laugh.
"I guess all this extra bulk finally has a purpose," he joked one afternoon as each child rested comfortably in one of his massive arms.
Emily smiled.
"You've never looked stronger."
He wrapped an arm around her shoulders.
"And I've never been happier."
As Emily's own pregnancy approached its final weeks, Ethan was there for everything.
He helped her put on her shoes.
He rubbed her aching back after long days.
He made midnight snack runs without complaint.
When she needed help standing up from the couch, he was already offering his hand.
He never once said, "It can't be that bad," again.
Because now...
He truly understood.
One quiet evening, while Ethan rocked the twins to sleep in the nursery, Emily opened her laptop.
Almost absentmindedly, she typed in the strange web address.
To her surprise...
The website was still there.
It looked exactly the same.
Old-fashioned.
Plain.
Almost forgotten by time.
She smiled to herself and clicked Leave a Review.
She gave it five stars.
Then she typed:
"I originally bought this because I wanted my husband to understand what pregnancy feels like. I never expected the experience to change our lives forever. He became more patient, more compassionate, and the most incredible father I could have imagined. Whatever magic this site contains, it taught us that empathy isn't something you can explain—sometimes it has to be lived. Thank you."
She clicked Submit.
The page refreshed.
For just a brief moment, another message appeared beneath her review.
"Congratulations on your growing family. Thank you for choosing empathy."
A second later...
The message vanished.
Curious, Emily refreshed the page again.
The review was still there.
But the website itself had changed.
Every product had disappeared.
Only a single line remained at the center of the page.
"Until someone else needs to learn."
The browser closed on its own.
When Emily tried typing the address again...
The website no longer existed.
She walked quietly into the nursery.
Ethan was asleep in the rocking chair with both babies resting peacefully against his broad chest.
His powerful frame looked different than it once had—thicker, softer around the middle, his chest still fuller, his build more like a champion strongman than a competitive bodybuilder.
Yet Emily had never found him more attractive.
He opened one sleepy eye and smiled.
"What?"
She shook her head.
"Nothing."
She leaned down and kissed his forehead.
"I was just thinking..."
"What?"
"You became exactly the man I hoped you'd be."
Ethan looked down at the twins sleeping peacefully in his arms.
He smiled.
"I think they made me stronger than the gym ever could."
And for the first time in his life, Ethan realized that strength wasn't measured by how much weight he could lift.
It was measured by how much love he could carry.
