Sorry for the vent but oughghghg

I'm tireddd I feel like everyone is complaining about the same thing but!!! It's tiring!!! I haven't been sharing stuff too much lately because it feels like such a chore. I miss just doing a drawing and uploading it and that was it. Now if you do that is as good as throwing it into the abyss. I feel like I can't reach anyone and to me art is a medium to comunicate and it doesn't make sense without someone to receive it!

To me the most frustrating part is having to be ME the center of attention and having to tell you what my art is about. That's what the art is for! The focus shouldn't be on me and my why, but on the art itself!!! I don't even know how to explain what

Anyways, I'll try to keep at it and do my silly little drawings and post them and be free and if someone sees it I'll consider it a win

ok i suddenly had a thought and got curious

visual artists: when you have an idea for something, does it appear in your mind as the finished product, the steps you'll have to take, a sentence, or something else?

finished thing (i saw an image of an apple in my head so that's what i'll draw)

steps (if i draw an apple, i'll draw a circle as a guide first, then...)

sentence (i should draw an apple being picked from a tree)

a combination of these (tell me in the tags!!)

something else (also tell me in the tags!!!!)

not a visual artist, just curious.

I'm spending a week in Limerick this summer with my irish dance school and have a couple of days in Dublin and I was planning to go see the setanta wall mosaic and I just found out they took it down in 2019???? And there's no more news about it???? I'm devastated what the fuck...

@sissiarte and @riseupriseupandcomealong have both made lovely art (I have Láeg art by both of them on my wall)

This list is incomplete. You can help by expanding it (=also posting about Láeg regularly).

There are also various posts from others in the Ulster Cycle tag, and a general increased tendency to include him in broader discussions :)

The REALLY fun thing has been undergrads coming into classes my friends teach knowing a suspicious amount about Láeg and also caring a suspicious amount about him, at which point my friends usually find a subtle way to compliment their shoelaces.

Because. Well. It is perfectly possible to independently acquire a passion for Láeg. It was the only way to do it a few years ago, and I think people who come in via late texts in particular are more naturally predisposed to it because of his larger role there. But there are certain comments people make that can only have come from either reading my articles or following me on Tumblr, and quite often the former goes along with the latter 😆
