Psalm 34:6
The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights.
Habakkuk 3:19
For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.
Habakkuk 2:14
...no weapon forged against you will prevail..
Isaiah 54:17
David's statement of faith
“The LORD is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid? ” Psalm 27:1
Psalm 13 - A study
This psalm was written by David.
David went through painful situations in life and looked unto God for deliverance. This is one such psalm.
In first 2 verses, David appeals to God to deliver him out of his troubles. It also show David's faltering faith in God. David knew that the deliverance should come from God but David lost patience in waiting for deliverance. David kept his timeline in his mind and asking God how long should he wait.
How long, O LORD? Will You forget me for ever? How long will You hide Your face from me? How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and every day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me?
Psalm 13:1-2
Bro / sis, When we also go through such situations in life, we question God. We say, "Oh God, Have you forgotten me?". First we should understand that our timeline is different from God's timeline for us. Our timeline is human made but God's one for us is divine. Our timeline may go wrong but God's timeline will never go wrong. With our timeline in mind, we question God, "how long should I wait?". We should learn from this psalm. We should submit ourselves to God's timeline.
We shouldn't bombard ourselves with contrasting thoughts. Too much of thoughts bring sorrow to our heart and aggravate the pain. We should submit all our burdens in God's hands and wait in patience for His reply. Deliverance come from God! Amen!
