A single piece sculpture carved from a solid specimen of this beautiful material. Mookaite formed in the Windalia radiolarite formation in Western Australia during the Lower Cretaceous (Aptian) period from 125 to 113 million years ago. Microscopic silica shelled radiolaria precipitated into sedimentary layers to become the beautifully colorful gemstone that we are fascinated by today! Natural fractures lead to wonderful patterns of contrasting shades in this remarkable Super Realistic crystal skull sculpture. Measuring 6.4x4.2x4.8 inches (162x106x122 mm) and weighing 4.0 pounds (1797g).

Jack Frost Amethyst Agate Geode Carved Crystal Skull with Stocking Cap Sculpture

Happy Holidays! Our Jack Frost crystal skull sculpture is here to bring you our very best wishes and our sincere thanks to all of our friends and followers! We wish for everyone a very Merry Christmas and wonderful holiday celebrations with good food and drink, good friends, and good will!

Jack Frost is carved from a beautiful banded blue-grey agate from Uruguay with the features of our Super Realistic design. The Jack Frost crystal skull from Skullis wears a traditional stocking cap with a white pom at the tip, a naturally colored section of the agate specimen. This is a single piece sculpture and the carved cap fits Jack perfectly!

This superior specimen holds a hollow geode cavity decorated with richly colored amethyst crystals. The druse actually passes through the crystal skull, with a small opening below the left temple area. The white and contrasting dark and light shades of blue creates a perfect wintry effect for our more chill than chilly chum Jack. And for the connoisseur, rather than ice crystals, the Jack Frost crystal skull has an incredible field of lovely green dendritic plumes decorating a large portion of the left side of the cap! Smoothly polished, the colors here are intense as well, and some areas are framed in perfectly clear layers of agate!

The Serpent’s Egg - Agate Geode Carved Crystal Skull, Sphere, and Snake with Ruby Eyes Sculpture

This piece was originally presented as the 196th sculpture of our year long A Crystal Skull a Day event on December 11, 2014.

The Serpent’s Egg is a brilliant and most eloquent crystal skull sculpture carved from one single agate geode specimen from Brazil. The agate itself is a top quality specimen, with many different colorful layers creating beautiful natural embellishments in this unbelievable work of art. At the top a regal crystal skull is decorated with these translucent and multicolored agate bands, and it features an open geode interior lined with crystal point terminations. The crystal skull is supported by the body of the serpent on one side and an agate branch shaped design on the other side. The serpent and the branch both extend to the base of the sculpture, with the serpent twisting back, then rising up and giving a flick of its tongue to create a lemniscate, or infinity symbol. The carefully planned sculpture has resulted in most of the body of the serpent featuring some of the best contrasts of the agate layers, and the serpent’s eyes are made of richly colored faceted rubies. In the interior of this superb carving rests an unattached, free floating agate sphere that has been carved within the agate sculpture. As with the entire sculpture, the crystal sphere which cannot be removed, has been perfectly carved and polished to a high glassy finish. The sphere is part of the original agate specimen, showing the same coloration and formation as the exterior carving. The agate crystal ball is kept in place inside this astonishing carving by the various features of The Serpent’s Egg, and can be turned and displayed in any orientation.
