Project without a Project manager

A project manager is very essentially to a project. He communicates timelines, he synergizes efforts from all team members. He guides the proper issuing of documents for all to be in one accord as to the direction of a project and all requirements needed.

Lack a project manager and see chaos erupt. The owner of the project will claim to always be busy. The manager of the team will claim to always be busy, the engineers will always be like headless chickens because they have no requirements, no record to show what is expected of them and when.

I am struggling at the moment with the architect. The software has no data structure, no DB that has been developed. The owner of the project wants a unicorn but has no idea how it looks and will not hire a designer to help us front end developers to know what he expects. I have drawn mockups and he has not given feedback, I am not sure why he ducking me.

Hurdle to the first million

I just received a rejection letter from immigration. They will not permit me to stay in South Africa and work. I just received a contract for 18,000 a month from a business that has been operating for the past 3 years.

I am very low today. I have to go back to Bots and leave my wife and kid behind. I have to go look for a job there which will take a very long time.

10,000 hours rule.

It's almost 2300 in Cape Town, and everywhere GMT+2, I created a pull request around 1800. Just got feedback from my client about the dashboard I made for him. He is happy with the overall look and feel but requires a few changes here and there.

I could be calling it a night but I am here reading up on the best way to have multiple menus and which icons to use. I have not completed my 10,000 hours of experience so I have to keep adding more hours to the art of front end development.

Soon I will be able to take on international clients and I will be ready for 'Mr Know-it-alls'.

Road to my first million
