They walked along the shoreline, the tide crashing upon the beach. The music it created filled their silent walk.
Visions of the night flittered through her mind.
The excellent restaurant they had dined at earlier was filled with exquisite furniture, people of only the highest class of society. It was amazing, and yet nothing to him. He was so cultured, used to frequenting such places. The way he had strode into the palatial building, no introductions needed, was awe-inspiring.
“Oh darling, you’re so cold.”
“Aye,” he said. He took a drag of his cigar, letting out the smoke in a long white wisp. The cloud wafted into the air, stark against the dark night sky. “Dat me hook.”
