✈ Lissa Moore looks a lot like Candice Accola. She is 22 and Open. Lissa is from the UK and her Exchange Partner is: Shawn Williams.
And you’ve got your demons and darling they all look like me.
▲ “STARTING FROM ZERO GOT NOTHING TO LOSE, MAYBE WE’LL MAKE SOMETHING, ME MYSELF GOT NOTHING TO PROVE.”
In her quaint little hometown, everyone knows who Lissa Moore is; captain of the cheerleading squad, head of the prom committee, president of the student council. She was that one girl in school who dabbled in everything and still managed to pull straight A’s while maintaining a busy social calendar; Lissa was the one girl that everyone wanted to hate. The only problem was that nobody could - she was kind and generous almost to a fault, and if you hated on her for no reason, then people hated on you. Lissa was the type of girl that was bubby and happy, her sentences punctuated by her giggles rather than actual pauses. Throughout all four years of high school, everything was perfect for the girl; she was constantly surrounded by her lifelong best friends, schoolwork came easy to her and she could eat all of the greasy food in the cafeteria and not gain a single pound. But most importantly, Lissa was in love; she had been all of her life. When she was 3 years old, Lissa met Brian in the sandbox at the local park, and from then on it was a done deal. Brian and Lissa, Lissa and Brian - there was never one without the other and everyone knew that there never would be again. The couple was so attached at the hip that not one person in their entire town could ever imagine them ever being apart. No matter what they did or where they went, they were a package deal. This only became more official when Brian proposed at their graduation and Lissa knew that their future was set, a fact that she couldn’t be happier about. It was easy to see that Lissa Moore led a charmed life, until in one instant, everything was ruined.
▲ “YOU GOT A FAST CAR, IS IT FAST ENOUGH SO WE CAN FLY AWAY?”
Lissa didn’t come across the Exchange program by fate or chance or word of mouth. There was no magical gust of wind that blew the colourful flyer into her face, no advert on the television that caught her eye while aimlessly channel surfing. No, Lissa Moore found out about the Exchange because she had been looking, desperately searching, for something to pull her out of her hometown and all of her demons that lay there. Living in their house, seeing the same people every day, attempting to move on with her life when all she had around her were constant reminders of the life she could have had, the life she was supposed to have was finally taking a toll on the poor girl. She didn’t know how she was going to do it, but she did know that she needed to get out. Destination undefined, but Lissa needed to be free of the small town and the history that it held for her. This trip around the world, new places, new people, seemed like the perfect thing for a person like her. Without any hesitation, Lissa packed her bags and was off.
▲ “WE’VE GOT TO MAKE A DECISION, LEAVE TONIGHT OR LIVE AND DIE THIS WAY.”
When she was 19 years old and busy planning her wedding, Lissa got pregnant. Brian, her parents, Lissa herself - everyone was thrilled at the news. Yes, she was young and yes, she was scared, but the baby would have been raised in a loving and stable household, of that Lissa was sure. The nursery was painted, toys were bought and parenting books were read. Despite her initial fear, as the days turned into weeks and the weeks turned into months, Lissa became more and more excited about the arrival of her baby. She had visions of clothes and shoes and Mommy and Me classes that they could attend together. Lissa would have done everything in her power to make sure that her baby grew up as happy as she did, but she never got the chance. One night, she woke up covered in blood and just like that, her little baby was gone. Completely devastated and overcome by grief, every attempt that Brian made to pull it together failed. He had been even more excited about the baby than Lissa and the loss had hit him hard. When Lissa came home from the grocery and found his body one day, that was the moment that everything became clear to her - nobody’s future was set. Life was always waiting in the wings to screw you over.
Tori Alexander; [Friend] There was no other way to put it than this: Tori was crazy. And that was exactly what Lissa needed right now, some crazy. If there was anything to get her mind off of her past, it would be the stories of the antics that the other girl had gotten up to, and that was something that Lissa welcomed with open arms.
Damon Rivers; [Ex-Friend] Surprisingly, at first the two seemed to get along fine. It was only after Lissa had really spent any amount of time with the boy that she realized how annoying his constant chatter could be. She abruptly broke off all contact with him, hardly even batting an eyelid when she saw him around the house. Part of her felt horrible for snubbing him, but a bigger part felt relieved to have gotten the silence she wanted.
