legal name, akira takemura. but very few people call him that. for some reason, others stick to calling him “viper”– an old nickname from before he came to security detail for AEW’s wednesday night show.

growing up in a small town in texas in the early 2000s was far different from the childhood in okinawa his grandparents had, but it came with its share of perks– he became interested in fighting and self-defense from a young age and got plenty of exposure to it. the downside was, well, growing up trans. when akira was 16, he came out to his parents as transmasculine– but discarding his childhood name and gender identity had much more of an impact than he thought it would. he was disowned and made homeless for a while. at this time, akira just made the gym into his home as much as he could, even sleeping there while training and looking into anything he could do to feel more comfortable in his own skin.
while he maintained a steady interest in wrestling, he knew the ring wasn’t for him. he knew, but he still wanted to at least be near it as much as possible. his talent for brute strength and a steel grip made him a shoo-in for security jobs at local wrestling arenas at age 19. from there, he climbed up and up and up.
though nobody said he couldn’t take up going to underground boxing rings as a hobby. he had to train after hours, after all!
his personality is years of being “the weird kid” having culminated in a truly… unique human being. while a lot of his ramblings make no sense to listen to sometimes, there is a genuine message past his words.

his star sign is libra. he’s noted as being “unlucky” with women, but it’s not like his luck with men is much better. he likes cats, smoking, and drinking anything with caffeine; he dislikes nihilism, drinking alcohol, and baseball.
