"Heard I was being asked for. Managed to find some time to drop by."
The sniper, Junee Tapai, is here! Make sure to stay out of her line of fire!
A note was found neatly folded underneath the seat of a commercial Australian sea vessel…
Begin Report
I've finally done it. I've tracked down that slippery weasel. Everyone told me I couldn't do it, but I knew they were just fools. Fools, or snakes in disguise. I've broken every rule by being here. My job. My sex. My race. My home. Every single aspect of myself spits in the face of what mankind knows. I don't care if it's suicide. I'm finally here. The [[Dealer]] has been located. I've tracked down his very position without a single shadow of a doubt in my mind. And just when I thought I couldn't be more sure… it turns out I wasn't the only one tracking him.
The origins of the letter I've received are unknown, and are suspicious at best. But what they say I can already prove to be fact. They aren't liars. But I know there's something else happening here. I've already left for America. After this, I know that I can finally look at myself in the mirror and smile. This is my proof. I deserve to be here. I deserve to live, just as he deserves to die.
…Henry. You were so worried when I left. I know you support me, but I know it would be impossible not to let what others say get to you. They've gotten to me as well. The brave face you put on as you bid me farewell and kiss me goodbye is one I know you must have spent hours crafting. But I know you didn't do it for me. You know I could see through it. It was to help yourself believe that I would come home. I promise, my love. I will come home.
I will come home.

Note to self. Do not send this report to the Corporal. Too sentimental.
How is Junee and her husband’s bond like? Is it a happy marriage? By love? Or is by commitment?
"I'm quite happy with my life and being able to spend it with my greatest friend is wonderful. So to answer your question, yes. It is a happy marriage, and we were wed out of love."
What does Dusty like to eat? Also, here’s a brush as a gift for him 🥺
"Thank you for your gift. I'll be sure to try to use it with him, and I'll see if he accepts it or not. As for his diet, cats are carnivorous, so we feed him a blend of meats from our huntings. He is not very picky when it comes to food, so it allows me to make sure he has a balanced diet of proteins, fats, and small amounts of carbohydrates to help with his digestion."
What kinds of sweets do you exactly prefer the most, Ms. Sniper?
"Ah, so you're curious about that sort of thing, yes? I do not blame you for asking, I know I can appear rather... cold. My affinity for sweets is rather contradictory to that. To be honest, I do not have a specific favorite, but I do prefer sweets made with the apples from the orchard at home. They taste like home to me."
“Good evening, Ms. Anastazja. I’ve been informed that you’re a baker, yes? I personally enjoy sweet things greatly, may I order some of your deserts to sample?”
- @sniper-idv
"A-Ah, hello there."
Beth smiled warmly at her before pulling at a few trays of desserts and setting them on top of the counter.
"I-Is there anything her that catches your eye, ma'am? These all came out of the oven recently s-so they should still be warm."
"I'm... not quite sure, actually. Things have very different names than from where I'm from, so I don't think I could exactly ask for something. How about... could you recommend something to me?"
Despite talking about something lighthearted and rather non serious, her face was still cold as ice and still as stone, like she was watching for Beth to make some sort of sudden movement. Granted, that might just be what Junee's face looks like.
"Ah, I see.. Hmm... A-Are you a fan of chocolate, perhaps? I have some chocolate cake, as well as some brownies a-and chocolate chip cookies"
“Chocolate cake? And cookies? I see…”
Her expression and movements are completely still, totally unreadable. It seems as if her eyes are scanning the entire room, and yet they don’t seem to be moving at all, instead being completely locked in on Beth. Her silence was the loudest thing about her, until…
“Sure. I would be willing to try that.”

Being a sniper is a very hard job, have some cake 🍰
"Ah, thank you. I do enjoy sweets quite a lot, actually."
"Excuse me, hello there. I have not introduced myself to many in the manor, as I no longer am bound here since my trial concluded. However, as I still have access, and Brendan has spoken incredibly highly of you, I decided I may as well reach out and say hello. So... hello. My name is Junee. I'm ex-military, and a native to Australia. It's nice to meet you. You're Tatya, yes? If I haven't gotten the room wrong, that is."

@sniper-idv
Tatya blinks. So many new people have come to her room recently! “Oh uh! Yes! Yes I’m Tatya! You’re a friend of Brendan, yeah? Come on in!”
She motions for the sniper to follow her and takes a seat at a table near her window, which is covered in blackout curtains at the moment. “Sit down! Do you drink? I only have alcohol in here but I can get something else!”
"I drink, don't worry. I'll take some cider if you have it. But please, don't stress yourself about it. I don't typically stay for very long here, I only stop in to visit from time to time."
*She followed, nodding along.*
"Friend is a rather strong word, but we're certainly friendly with each other. I'm not sure how much he's told you about the game we were involved with, but the two of us were the only ones to make it out alive out of five. Frankly, I owe him my life, so the least I can do is check in on him from time to time."
Tatya nods and fumbles around inside of a mini fridge, finally pulling out two cold cans of cider with a smile. She places them on the table and cracks one open for herself. “Don’t worry about it. I never turn down an excuse to drink.” She laughs.
Her eyebrows furrow and she seems solemn for only a second, but it is quickly replaced but a sweet smile once again.
“Im aware that his game was pretty rough, yeah. I can see it on his face sometimes. How he holds himself.” She sighs and shakes her head. “But Im glad you check on him. He’s a good guy. Is that why you’re here?”
"He reminds me of how I was when I saw my first... you know. I was around his age when it happened, maybe a couple years younger. It's never easy. I appreciate the patience you and others show him."
*She sits down and stretches a bit, removing her jacket and shifting a lock of hair away from her face.*
"Thank you, I'll have to bring you some cider from home the next time I come. My husband and I run an apple orchard back home, but that's rather besides the point. As for why I'm here, well, I will probably visit him. But I'm mostly here to meet you. I haven't exactly been very social with others who are stuck here, and I've been meaning to change that. With a recommendation like the one he gave me, you seemed like someone good to start with."
She nods and rests her chin on her hand. “Well it’s hard not to like him. He’s been there for all of us. I mean, he’s a bit of a self sacrificial moron sometimes, but we all love him to bits regardless. Those who don’t, well, that just shows their character.”
Tatya busied herself with reading the labels of the can. Sitting still and looking in someone’s eyes is reserved for serious conversations usually.
“An apple orchard? That sounds like so much fun! Does that mean you actually made it home? And that you’re from this dimension? And this time period? I know Brendan isn’t from either and I’m not from this time. It’s all a little hard for me to understand, if I’m being honest.”
She shrugs and continues on, “Well, anyway, here I am! Tatya! The GoGo dancer! Hope I’m living up to your sparkling expectations!”
"Ah, I understand that. But still, I... I was there to see his... transformation, I suppose. He certainly wasn't like how he is now when I first met him. And yes, we do make our own cider. And again, yes. Same time, same world, same everything. Just a different country, is all."
*She sighed and took a sip, shaking her head.*
"I know about his situation, but he was the only one like that in the group. Everyone else was in the same place they always were. In regards to the year."

"I heard my title. Are you looking for me?"
- Junee || Sniper (@sniper-idv)
Oh, I didn't expect you to come so quickly. Good hearing. People said that a sniper is a long ranged weapon like a bow. It has me curious.
"In my line of work, you must be quick. Shoot before you are shot. Being quick in body and mind is the only way to stay alive."
*She nods her head, her expression not changing much at all.*
"They are both ranged weapons, yes. A sniper rifle is a type of firearm specialized for very long distances. It can shoot farther than a bow, but is mechanical, and suffers any disadvantages that brings. I assume you use a bow, if you're asking me about it?"
Archer nodded in understanding for her words. They might not have the same weapons but it seemed universal about the feeling of being shot at to some extent with people using long ranged weapons. They didn't mind her stoic expression as they were seen with a resting bitch face. They hummed with a nod as they tapped their long bow over their shoulder.
Indeed. Though it seems like range users are always the same in that regards - needing to be quick. Due to its mechanical frame it must need more work than normal does it? Is it ok to ask a sort of personal question about your occupation?
*She folds her arms, staying still and serious as ever. This person... seemed interesting. But then again, interesting is normal around here.*
"Yes. A mechanical weapon, such as a firearm, would require more maintenance than something akin to a bow. That is one of the downsides of the weapon. It's ok to ask personal questions, I'm not a bashful person."
*That last part was fairly obvious. Hell, has she even blinked since she got here?*
A hum of understanding. Archer had to keep maintenance of his own arrows and bowstring so no doubt the sniper would have a more difficult time due to the mechanism and more. They nodded at it.
Do you use your sniper for defense only or indiscriminately? Or is it something work related?
Archer held the paper up to her after writing. No doubt the sniper had seen many things but one thing that was curious for the archer was how she used it. Was it in defense? Was it for work? Or was it for something else?
"It was for work, now it's only for defense. I used to be a sniper for the Australian military, but ever since the incident at the manor, I've retired. I was tasked with tracking down and eliminating a dangerous drug lord from Japan who was invited to a game at this manor. I joined in hopes to take him out from inside. Ultimately, I wasn't the one to take his life, but he was killed either way, and I was able to escape with my life thanks to my... teammate."
*She nodded silently, quickly moving a couple strands of hair away from her eyes.*
Archer was quiet and polite as they listened to her short sum up. While a lot of it was still things they were learning, it was interesting to hear from someone who hadn't heard of such things. It must have been quite the chaotic game but ultimately between her target and her only one could make it out. There wasn't any way to not notice the pause in her word for teammate -whether it was due to her not being used to it or maybe someone she knew.
I see. Did your teammate make it?
They couldn't stop their curiosity.
"Yes, he did. At least the one who helped me survive did. Brendan Watterson is his name, I believe he went by the Avatar according to official game documents."
*Of course it was him. Feels like everything comes back to him in one way or another.*
"I usually don't work with others, and when I met him, he was simply a frightened child. However... I watched him grow into... something else. Whether that growth was positive or negative isn't for me to say, but it likely saved my life either way."
There was a thoughtful look on Archer's face as they thought about it. They might have seen the Avatar a time or two but never up close and personal as many others might have. They thought on her words. At some point, there is always something that will change a person be it for the good or the bad.
Archer hoped it was for the good however.
This place changes a person doesn't it?
The question sounded simple but one could also say it had too many meanings.
“A traumatic experience can change anyone. I’m not sure if it has anything to do with the manor itself, but I do suppose it could play into it. I know there’s some sort of chemical testing being done here, after all…”
*She sighs, and shakes her head. All things considered, she hadn’t changed much from the experience at all. If anything, she’d only benefited from it, as guilty as it made her feel.*

😎 Can your character do something useless but cool?
I can do a standing backflip.
