Interhouse competitive games and sports were a regular occurrence

Boys were encouraged to become competent with a musical instrument and perform regularly.
Every Saturday morning boys had to undertake 4 hours of charitable or community work.
*Participation in the CCF (Cadets) was not compulsory and invitation only (for the fittest)
*Grooming standards for CCF boys more strict (Hair and shaving)
*Two Parade Evenings a week (one Drill the other academic)
*Three one hours exercise a week (Mon Wed Fri) 5am-6am: 4 mile run; 1 mile Tarzan assault course; 200 press ups; 20 pull ups; 50 Burpees, 80m vertical rope climb (4 X 20m)
*8 weekend camps a year
Tough Calculus Study Group
On Every Sunday:
* Compulsory haircuts from 12 noon - 2pm
* During Summer our only free time during the week - usually picnics in the grounds 2pm - 5pm
