            soft cries from his feet has gaze shifting down  /  past makeshift features  &  dirtied rags,  eyes specks within folds of muted yellow.   it’s reminiscence of children’s scrawls  &  back room musk,  eyes boring holes below rag doll head lolled at its side            OH !   what a sight,  fickle creature playing tricks on the eyes !   yet,  in that forsaken place,  it was truly alone ;   &  this too shares the same fate,   masquerading as something that brings love,  in hope.

            sneakers scuff against concrete dusted  &  legs crouch low,  lips quirked up into something welcome.   nothing deserves to be alone.
