her toes wiggled against the blades of grass planted beneath the bare soles of her feet. another silent afternoon at the park she concluded as she clamped down on the straw of her now empty iced chai latte. nia knew her goal in this town was to meet people and build friendships. (force socialization) she, however, underestimated how difficult this aim would be. she’s tried to approach people before, all around, in different settings but as soon as she’s five feet away from them, her lips press together and her greeting is only a fleeting thought as she promptly turns around and walks the opposite direction. her face warms at the recollection of yet another failed attempt at the market this morning which lead her to leave her basket full of groceries at a random aisle, quickly wanting to make a silent escape. an exasperated sigh escapes her rosy lips, hands cupping her cheeks when she shakes her head to herself. she takes a seat on the field that stretches out for miles in front of her and places the empty cup down beside her. resting her chin against the top of her knee, fingers hook into the anklet clasped around her right ankle and in the silence, she closes her eyes and lets herself enjoy the gentle breeze that tousled her long, black hair.

↳ “So, things are good?” “Oh, yeah. Really good.” “School?” “Good.” “Still gonna do the Harvard thing?” “Yeah.” “Good.”
˚ ⊹ · . ⌜ main verse. park sooyoung. cisfemale. she/her. ⌟ huh ? oh ― that’s just nia song. as far as i know, they’re twenty-four years old and last i heard they’re unemployed, but somehow financially stable. they’ve been in hope for a month and around here they’re known as an enigma but everybody knows all that. what you really ought to know is that they’re kind of guarded, and vague, but balanced, and responsible at the same time. and if you ever need a favour from them, get them a cup of matcha tea. that’ll do the trick. aquariuses am i right ?
ok i’m still finishing my bio so dont hate me pls
but basically nia is a very private and guarded person. she likes to think she wasn’t affected by her parents’ abandonment bc she had her aunt (mother’s sister), who raised her, in her life BUT we all know she got hella abandonment issues bc of this.
her mother comes from money, father does not. both parents were too stuck in their drug and alcohol induced benders to take the responsibility of raising a child
parents decided to live their own life and dropped off nia at her aunt’s door step. that was the last time the family heard form them.
mother’s side of the family instantly shun her out just bc she was born from the black sheep of the family
aunt decided it was best to protect nia from her side of the family bc she knew keeping her around was causing more harm than good
aunt and nia moved to dallas, texas where they lived quietly, and while her aunt had (inherited) money, they made a point of not having a flashy lifestyle, both being the most down to earth members of the song family.
nia didn’t bother making friends. her aunt encouraged her to do so by making her participate in clubs and after school programs but nia refused to speak more than needed to.
she’s not exactly anti social but she never liked the idea of forming platonic or romantic relationships- seemed like a lot of work when in the end they all walk away from her life (she’s just really scared tbh)
this however did lead to her making plenty of online friends. her reasoning came down to this: online friends are real to a certain degree; you don’t have to put as much effort to keep them around. plus, everyone has a better and enhanced life online. no one really knows who you are unless you meet in person. she avoided this religiously.
nia lived in dallas, texas up until a month ago, when she decided to move to hope, alaska. nia really only heard about this place from spending her nights blogging. she had seen mutuals speak positively of hope, and craving a small bit of change, that would not be as overwhelming, she packed her bags and with the help of her aunt she moved to hope, alaska.
since she is going for a change of scenery, nia hopes the new atmosphere will bring her out of her comfort zone. she believes it is time to build relationships with people. however, she realized one month into her new home, the lack of social practice, makes her the same person she’s always been: aloof and introverted.
1. she will have a hard time socializing, she can get a little awkward and at times develop a small stutter from how anxious she can get around new people. pls be patient with her.
2. i WILL be adding a more in depth description in her bio so once that’s completed, feel free to read it.
3. i need any single wc u have in mind please i will write whatever lol
