The Creature From The Depths
It was a hot, humid summer night. The work was over and many were to be sleeping now. The Spies, and Medics were exempt from this of course. But a sort of⌠metal chain clanging against each other, and dragging across the ground, as well as banging against the chain fence. A growling suddenly came through, and then, ripping of the chain fence, before a splash was made into the waters of Teufort. Whatever it was was sizable, and it woke a Scout up, as well as a Sniper, and brought one of the Medics over. They all looked at each other in confusion.
@ask-fem-snipes
âThe HellâŚâ mutters the Sniper, sitting up and adjusting her sun glasses on to her hat. Tarlae McKenny stood up and walked over to the group gathered. âOkay-what the Hell did THAT to a chain link fence?â She asks, utterly stunned.
The Medic and the Scout were busy fussing over what the hell was making noise and just what had stumbled into 2Fort. When they heard Tarlae say something about the fence they both paled and looked over. âI donât vant to vake anyvone else up but ve need to check vhatâs down zhere.â âAre you freakinâ kiddinâ me? And get torn to sheds?!â Now the two were bickering back and forth, as water splashed, growls bellowed and meat was ripped apart, all sounds able to be heard from the sewers. It sounded like bone too was crackling from pressure of whatever was biting.
This caught the Fijianâs attention. âEither of you have a light?â She asks, looking into the sewers. âIâve got mâ arrows.â
Both of them turned their heads to her, and looked concerned. âAs zhee designated healer avake und on alarm at zhis moment, I vill not allow jou going down zhere by jourself. I know jou can handle quite a bit, but veâre going against zhee unknown.â The Medic grumbled. âBut, yes, I do.â The Medic handed it over to the Sniper, no problems. âUh, you uh, sure you can handle this? Not to insult you but, whatever it is, ainât pretty.â It seemed the Scout was a bit of a paranoid worrier.
âYes,â The sniper says, accepting the light. âYou wanna come?â
They both looked at each other then nodded, the Scout going and grabbing a few med-packs and his scattergun, and the Medic grabbing his syringe gun. The noise stopped suddenly, and in itâs placed, it filled the air with silence. And tension.
âCmonâŚâ she says, knocking an arrow and stepping down into the ankle high water. At least it was on her. She was barely scoutâs size.
The two followed her to where the sounds were. As the sounds got louder, it became clear what the creature was. It hasnât yet noticed them, yet, but by the mask, the boots, and the gloves were all ripped⌠so this pyro wasnât human.
Tarlaeâ eyes widened and she pulled the arrow back and narrowed her eyes. âHey!â She barked, arrow aimed right at the creatureâs head.
The water based creature/Pyro looked over to the shout, a dead small fish in itâs mouth. This creatureâs clothes were RED⌠the symbol on their uniform was pastel orange to contrast with the color of the uniform. With the fish it its mouth it backed up, and growled, being defensive. âI donât zink being hostile vill⌠vork. Besides, ve could do an investigationâŚâ The Medic huffed. âEspecially since zheyâre supposed to be a mercenary.â
The archer scowls a little, but lowers it.
The Pyro creature tilted his head and stayed back, but wasnât growling. The Medic dared to get closer to it, but at soon as the creature got defensive again, the medic sat down and put his weapons away. He was showing the Pyro he wasnât going to hurt him. The pyro still didnât come over, knowing the Sniper and Scout had their weapons on them still.
Tarlae nodded, and set the arrow back in its sheath, and slung the bow over her back. She sighs softly and holds her hands up. âScout, put the gun down.â
âYouâre kidding me, right?!â The Scout gulped, clearly he didnât like this creature. The Medic gave a stern look to the Scout, who gave a way-frightened gaze.
âScout drop it you can run fast enough,â she says annoyed. âJust put it away.â
âFine.â And he did. Once he did the Pyro-creature went closer to the Medic and seemed to relax. He made it clar his intentions were not hostile as he let the Medic pat the creatureâs head.
âSoâŚâ she said uncertainly. âYou speak English?â
It grunted, and shook itâs head. While it couldnât speak, it could understand. âMay I ask vhat happened? Vhy jouâre here?â The Medic asked. The Pyro-creature pointed to the rail cuffs, which had linking pieces of metal as i they were shackles at some point. Then he looked at the camera nearby and gave a gruff.
âHuhâŚâ Tarlae says, looking around.
The Medic looked at the Sniper and the Scout. âIâm going to need help to bring him back to zhee medbay, I vant to make sure itâs not injured.â
âAlright,â she shrugs, starting to walk closer to the Pyro.
The Pyro snapped his head towards her direction, but deemed her not a threat for now. The Medic picked him up much like how a baby would be, and the pyro-creature made a surprised noise at such sudden action. But it was clear Medic was going to have some trouble, especially since the Medic caries around that medigun back around all damn day and heâs still struggling from picking the creature up.
âHow about I help âim walk?â She offers-noticing this
âIf jou vant⌠but err, I donât know how ell zheyâd handle itâŚâ
Tarlae casually walks up to the pyro and asks: âWant help?â
The Pyro creature nodded.
