She frowned, hesitating before asking “Are you sure you want me to encourage them? I don’t want worse to happen because of them…”
"It’s fine, it’s fine…. I’m fairly certain I can handle whatever they fling at me!" Mokoro responds, smiling widely. "After all, it’s not like they’ll just go and fuse me with Tridekas!"
She couldn't help but chuckle at that, smiling warmly. "Okay~ But don't make me regret it~"
She reached for his hand, squeezing it gently. “We’ll sort this~” She smiled gently. “I know it’s not nice to have to act any way but yourself, so if there’s anything I can do...

She reached for his hand, squeezing it gently. “We’ll sort this~” She smiled gently. “I know it’s not nice to have to act any way but yourself, so if there’s anything I can do to help, you just have to say~”
"…Well, maybe you can try asking for the grays to curse us back into a fused state?" Mokoro asks, standing up to take his empty plate back to the kitchen.
She nodded, though asked softly “How will the two of you being fused help?” as she carried her own plate back out to the kitchen, smiling slightly when she saw that Alfie had fallen asleep in his playpen.
"Well, when we separate, as said earlier, there’s a half-chance I’ll get all my traits back!" …Ah, a bit too much emphasis there. He hated this at times. Can’t really blame anyone, though. Well, maybe those grays.
"But only a half-chance?" She asked, not liking those odds. He deserved better odds than that.

She glanced up at the eery grin, tilting her head; wondering why his expression was that way.
"…Ah, sorry. I get this way when something pisses me off. I just want my usual aura of happiness back as Miki calls it. Not her happy chirruping. It’s infuriating! I used do be able to just let others feel I was happy instead of audibly alerting them. Well, I’m more used to the other."

"What’s the risk?" She asked softly, worried. "And is there any way of definitely being able to do it?"
"If we do it, high. If grays do it, well, there’s none. They’re the only people who could definitely do it with no risk whatsoever. But, it’s not like one can cast a summon grays spell by saying something like ‘Oh, gosh, I hope the immortal anons don’t decide to fuse me and my sister together again!’" His eyebrow twitches a bit as he grins somewhat eerily….
"Ah." She nodded, frowning unhappily. "If the greyfaces could do something useful for once, that would be nice..."

She smiled at him fondly, before frowning when he did. “Is everything alright?” She asked softly, tilting her head slightly.
Swallowing his mouth full of cake, Mokoro responds. “I guess. I still have one of my sister’s character traits though. I thought it would fade over time, but it hasn’t!” …He didn’t chirp! He had the nice aura of pleasantness around him! Not chirping like a bird!
"Ah, that must be irritating for you…" She frowned, placing her plate down. "Is there anything that can stop it, do you think?"
"…If that incident is re-created, and stopped again, there’s a fifty-fifty chance It’ll be gone. But, fusing two beings together is either high neutrality magics or low-leveled gray magics…."

She laughed, leading him back into the living room as she took a small mouthful of her own cake.
Alfie was happily sat in the playpen, gazing intently at one of the books that was in with him, babbling to himself and chewing at his toy, turning a page carefully every now and then.
Mokoro was content to sit on the couch and keep stuffing his face. “…Ish so gud~!” He chirruped. And then frowned. He was still chirping, even this long after that incident?!
She smiled at him fondly, before frowning when he did. "Is everything alright?" She asked softly, tilting her head slightly.

She chuckled, nodding. “Of course you can~ I’m sure it won’t be as good as that, but you can have as much as you’d like~” She answered, as she cut a quarter, transferring it to a plate and handing it to him with a fork.
"There’s more cream, as well, if you want any~" She added, as she cut herself a small slice.
"Ah, thanks. I’ll keep that in mind." Being a bit flashy, a fork seems to melt out from between his bandages just to re-form in his hands. He then, somewhat un-gentlemanly, begins stuffing his face with cake.
She laughed, leading him back into the living room as she took a small mouthful of her own cake.

"It’s a victoria sponge~" She answered with a smile, gesturing for her to follow him into the kitchen - uncovering it as she reached for plates and forks, and a knife to cut it.
"How much would you like? You’re welcome to have as much as you wish, I’m baking a lot these days."
"…Well…. Could I maybe request a fourth of the cake? Miki always cuts her cakes in eights, and I always eat two eights. Well, her chocolate death cake never kills me anyways. All it’s richness and moistness and cakeness…." A small grin crosses his face.
She chuckled, nodding. "Of course you can~ I'm sure it won't be as good as that, but you can have as much as you'd like~" She answered, as she cut a quarter, transferring it to a plate and handing it to him with a fork.

She smiled, letting him guide her hands as she shook her head slightly. “You are too kind, Mokoro, you know that?” She told him gently, amazed by the fact that he’d thought about being able to let others use the bandages too.
Once it was finished, she asked softly “Would you like some cake?”
I don’t really think I’m all that kind…. Isn’t thinking of others a common thing?! …Outside of Wonderland, that is. Well, maybe it isn’t, if my memories of Soph’s world are right…. "Cake? What type of cake?" He asked, folding his arms. His shirt was still pooled around his elbows, looking very much like a jacket. "…Ah, I’m such a sucker for any type of cake, really. They’re all so good~! Well, except for carrot cake, and for some reason Miki can’t take tiramisu seriously anymore— whatever that means."

She watched him worriedly, especially when he sighed, and yanked the bandages off. “You shouldn’t hide~” She murmured softly, shifting to pick up the bandages; gently beginning to reapply them for him. “Anyone who changes their attitude towards you because of it doesn’t deserve friendliness.”
She meant it, angry that anyone would judge him or run from him because of the scar.
"…Er… I-if you say so…." Ehh, this was slightly awkward. "I-I can get those myself. I… have a specific way of tying them, so that if anyone else needs a piece I can easily tear off a length….." Reaching for the ends— which were in Soph’s hand, he gently begins guiding them in a weaving pattern around his torso.
She smiled, letting him guide her hands as she shook her head slightly. "You are too kind, Mokoro, you know that?" She told him gently, amazed by the fact that he'd thought about being able to let others use the bandages too.
Once it was finished, she asked softly "Would you like some cake?"

"…It’s nothing to be sorry for. Nothing could have prevented it, except myself. But, if I did that, then the king would never have reclaimed his throne." Sighing, he undid a few knots in the mass of bandage before pulling them off in one yank, a long, unbroken stream trailing behind him.
"…It takes too much effort to apply them again. I guess I’ll just be in the back rooms the rest of the day." Smiling slightly, he ruffles Soph’s hair again. “Thanks for being worried, I guess. Most people just take it for granted and then move on.”

"Ah, no, the shifting actually made it better. I would have died, as the wound went straight through me, and chipped the side of my clock. As for seeing it, well…. I guess…."
Eyes slightly worried, he undid the side of his shirt, before letting it slide off his shoulders and pool around his elbows. Reaching for the end of the bandages, he gave it a sharp tug, before gently sliding the seemingly never-ending circle of white down to his waist. And there it was. A Shockingly-white, jagged mark that went from his left collarbone to his lower right side. “…I guess it’s obvious why I choose to hide it.”
She relaxed a little at knowing that the healer had made it better, before her eyes went wide at the side of the scar.
It was so big, she couldn't understand how anyone could survive it. It was no wonder he looked worried, and she began to wonder slightly if it was a part of why he seemed so timid.
It was several moments, before she suddenly realised she was staring, and she reached to squeeze his hand gently; gazing at him sympathetically. "I can't imagine how awful that must have been... I'm sorry it happened~"

She blushed at the way he ruffled her hair, but frowned; shaking her head. “I still feel guilty~ To think that I hurt people bad enough to scar…” She shuddered, before quickly distracting herself with his explanation about the other scar - or perhaps lack.
"How did you get the scar? And is it alright? Does it still hurt?"
"Well, it started as a mortal stab wound, but a healer managed to shift it’s shape so that it was a potentially lethal slash instead. It’s fine now, just— it scares the customers, and others back home, so I keep it hidden behind bandages all the time. It doesn’t hurt, there’s just a bit of a mental link in that I get the feeling of it hurting whenever I see the type of weapon that caused it, being a type of spear. Unfortunately, those are the weapons that are supposed to be used by my Role in Spades, which is why I hardly ever wear the traditional garb. Too many bad memories."
She frowned more, worried. "The healer... shifted it? They made it worse?" She asked, a hint of anger slipping into her voice, that anyone would dare hurt him - let alone make his injury worse.
"May I... may I see?" She wasn't certain why she wanted to, but perhaps... perhaps she merely wanted to reassure him. She didn't want him to be ashamed of his scars, the way others she cared about were.

"O-oh…" Her face fell, and she looked away. Sighing, she stood, gently prying the empty bottle away from Alfie and replacing it with a toy to chew.
Placing him in the playpen, she softly replied to Mokoro “I am so sorry about it, Mokoro… I’ll never hurt you again, I promise.”
She frowned, adding fearfully “The o-one on your chest… that wasn’t me, was it?”
"The scar on my chest is old, very old. Well, for a scar, that is. I think it’s about eight years old now? If years flow the same in Spades as they do in places that actually have time, I don’t know. And how many times must I say that it wasn’t your fault, Soph! You weren’t yourself! You are not to blame!" The mage retorts, idly ruffling the other’s hair as a habitual response, if nothing else.
