“No you don’t! That was then! This is now! For crying out loud, Bella, there’s carnivores on the loose! I can’t even get you to listen to me now, if we’re being stared down by a dimorphodon because she thinks we would be a good snack, are you going to listen to me then?!” He snaps. He’s being harsh but he is on edge and he knows her game. If being harsh and shutting her out keeps her safe, so be it. “You don’t know the risks, how could you know the risks?! You may not be twelve but you’re definitely acting that way, being all naive like this.” 

“You act tough, Bella, and in some ways you are. God, you’re stubborn as hell, that’s for sure but this is not the time to be stubborn. This is a time to break things down realistically and realize for once, that maybe…just maybe, not everything I do has involve you,” His harshest words yet, perhaps, and there is a twinge of regret as he says them. Not telling the truth is not something he is good at, even with family. “It’s selfish, Bella. It feels like you’ve got…some motive here that’s only about you. It doesn’t feel like you’re thinking about how this is going to affect everyone else. We’ve been at this for WEEKS, you can’t just waltz in and act like it’s okay for you to just…jump on board.”

        now he’s doing anything to get her to LISTEN to him    -    even if it means hurting her in the process. her nose twitches. now she’s upset, pissed even buther body still curls away from him slightly. this wasn’t exactly how this conversation was suppose to go. ( she had no idea HOW it was suppose to happen in the first place ... but this ? them yelling at each other in public. this wasn’t it. ) of course she knew the RISKS , how could he say that she DIDN’T    -    she was there the first time around. she knew that SHE had almost died but h e l l so did HE. if it meant that those animals were taken off that island safe, she would do it all over again. that was a different mind set she had to over two months ago.

           “ it’s because you SHUT me out for weeks ! ” she heard the news reports    -    saw the advertisements and when owen wasn’t returning any of her CALLS she knew that something was happening. they were planning something and she felt left out. but why they hell would they need a bartender ? the answer was they DIDN’T but she wasn’t JUST the bartender    -    she worked with the baby dinosaurs, she was even there for some of them h a t c h i n g.

              but then shit got in the way and she had to CHOOSE which position on the island she would be better at ( she needed ). bella had to let those dinosaurs go and hand them to someone else    -    but that didn’t mean she didn’t want to help them. “ i worked with those dinosaurs as well, owen. you weren’t the only one. ” s e l f i s h ? HER ? her jaw shut and the muscle jumped slightly. hands came up and whacked against his chest ( not that she could ever hurt him. ) “ selfish ? owen grady how DARE you ! ” all of this ... was for him for the dinosaurs. blue eyes narrowed “ yet you’d take claire. she was the one that LET all this happen ! ” now that was a low blow. but he upset her    -    now she was going to lash out.
