The danger in not having a data driven reopening of businesses is that opening businesses too soon forces workers to go back to work regardless of the true status of the pandemic, because if they don’t they’ll be denied unemployment insurance payments and have zero income.

They’re basically being given the choice of getting sick or dying from their job or living in poverty.

The only ones who benefit are the business owners and the government.

It’s appalling.

Facts:

The United States has 4.2% of the world’s population: 330 million out of 7.8 billion people.

We have 30% of the world’s COVID positive patients: 521,000 out of 1,755,683 patients.

We have 19% of the world’s COVID-19 deaths: 20,054 out of 106,897 deaths.

We’ve only tested less than 1% of the entire US population.

No matter how you parse it, this is irrefutable evidence of a massive failure on the part of the Trump administration.
