The Goldilocks principle (or effect, or zone) is found across many disciplines – psychology, biology, astronomy, economics and engineering. It describes a situation in which something is or has to be exactly right.
Surprisingly the name of this principle comes from a children’s story, The Three Bears, in which a little girl Goldilocks finds a house owned by three bears. Each bear has its own preference for the food and beds. After trying their porridge and beds, Goldilocks determines that one is always too hot or too large, one is too cold or too small, and one is "just right."
I am wondering how come it could happen? :)
