I'm leaving on tour with my band in a week. I'm playing in 5 different states. We'll be doing over 60 hours of driving. I figured I have to have something to do. I'll be bringing two chief time-killers: 1st on the list: an iPod loaded with the following movies- All 6 Star Wars films the extended cuts of the Lord of the Rings movies, Capt. America, Green Lantern extended cut, Thor, and Sherlock Holmes 1 & 2. That's a fair start at things, but iPods run out of battery life. I figured, I had to have a backup plan. I have my Game Boy Color with Pokemon Blue, a Gameboy Advance with Pokemon Emerald, and a DS lite with Pokemon SoulSilver and Pokemon Black. I think I'll be pretty solid. I will miss people though. I'll be away for between two and three weeks. I won't be able to see many friends for some time. I suppose I'll be have my trusted team of six companions to keep me occupied. Overall, I'm really excited. I thought it would be 5+ years before I ever toured in a band after leaving high school. Turns out it will be less than 3 years before my first tour. I always hated when people would say; "I'm counting down the days to ____". Fill in the blank. Whatever it is, I'm finding that no matter how much I hate it, I'm counting down the days till I leave for tour. What a load of crock.
