Man Charged After Injuring Pedestrian While Driving Under the Influence
Victor Kwak has been charged with aggravated assault by auto after driving while intoxicated and hitting a 28-year-old pedestrian in Jefferson. Kwak lost control of his vehicle and hit a curb, then a tree and a wooden utility pole before he swerved onto the sidewalk, colliding with the pedestrian, who suffered a traumatic brain injury.
Kwak was charged with assault by auto within 1,000 feet of a school, a second-degree crime. He has a history of motor vehicle summonses that include reckless driving and driving while intoxicated.
