hi guys, so i’ve been facing the problems with the new dashboard, but i found some tricks to manage some things. they are not perfect or ideal, but they work for me and hopefully will work for you!
i’ve actually been thinking about making an extension while xkit doesn’t come with updates, but i found out that the coding they used on tumblr is messy af, so i’ve trying to understand it (i’ve worked with AI, so you can have an idea how messy it is). while i keep trying to code everything (which i can’t promise i’ll do, because, again, the code is messy and difficult to read).

BLOCKQUOTE
the blockquote turned into a issue for some players that doesn’t want it to show up in their replys. that said, i found a way of fixing it (it’s not perfect or ideal).
you’ll need to open your post html, and find the </blockquote>. this is when the blockquote ends. now, it seems there’s a bug where any kind of media (pictures, gifs) and the blockquote won’t work properly.
the code should be right after the coding of the image of the other character (to be precise, after </figure>.
here’s the highlighted exemple.
you need to change it so it will appear after the end of the text. this will move the gif of your partner so it will not have a blockquote at all and it will be right before your answer.
here’s an exemplo of where to put the code:

DRAFTS
some people are dealing with the draft problem, which pretty much posts the draft after you edit it, instead of saving again in the drafts tab.
it’s very simple to solve this. it’s just a trick if you want to save things as drafts after you edit them.
you’ll need to click in the arrow of the “post” button (where you can choose if you’re posting it, saving as a draft and stuff). that should say “save as a draft” or something like that, at the beginning.
first thing you need to do is change it to any other option and then go back to the draft option. doing this will automatically save is as a draft again
OLD DASHBOARD
the way the new dashboard looks is not ideal for some people, as it isn’t for me. for you to get the old dashboard look, you have two options!
the first option will reboot everytime you open a new page or enter a different tab on tumblr, so you will have to do it over and over again.
basically, all you need to do is add /new/ before the “dashboard” or any other name “like drafts” in the url. so, if you want to go to dashboard, it need to be tumblr.com/new/dashboard, and it will transform it to the old dashboard.
the second one is permanent, or at least until you disable it. you need to have the stylus extension on chrome (x) and then download this extension. (x) this extension belong to @shudesigns.
both of them are great options if you want the old dashboard look.
GIFS
one of the main problems right now is the tag problem. that makes everything so difficult to find, specially gif hunts or gif icons.
i used two methods to find my gifs. the first one, i searched on my history the following things: “gif icons” “gif hunt” “gif pack”, as well as the fc name. you’ll not find all of them, but a good amount will show up.
if you’re searching for gif hunts of an fc you never used, consider searching on google. for an exemple, if i want some cha eunwoo gif icons, i would search “cha eunwoo gif icons tumblr.” a good amout will show up.
another option is to go to gifs directiories or even to gif creators.
