a more realistic portrayal of being poor (e.g. maeve stealing gas from another campervan or her often being late to pay people)

on top of that, realistic 'sex noises’ (because people make weird noises during sex!! it isn’t all sexy pornstar moans!!!)
(couldn’t find a gif, but that scene where aimee masturbates she makes some strange noises and i kind of fucking love that because it’s just so damn real)
acknowledging that literally most teenagers aren’t having sex
eric being gay and christian
eric’s church being so supportive of him despite being gay
rahhh i just love this show so much,, there’s so many small things that i notice each time i watch it that just make it so special to me <3
