(I just saw the last art first so I didn't realize it was Ippei's first day here lol- I think thats so cute though!!! Chishiya dr who is cold and doesn't socialize but actually starts talking to the new nurse and Ippei doesn't realize anything is weird / doesn't understand why everyone else thinks Chishiya is an asshole because hes sweet and maybe a lil easily flustered w him)
(Or Established relationship chippei and Ippei starts working at Chishiya's hospital could lowkey be so cute too- colleagues not understanding how Chishiya is suddenly acting like this and the 2 of them j being cuties)
Chishiya j moved to a new hospital after he did something abt the corruption from the last one, and he’s still v burnt out and tired and a mess, and Ippei is… a light through all of it
Thinking no borderlands au but idk what motivated him to break out of the old hospital then-
- his father was head of old hospital and does something else bad and it’s like straw that breaks the camels back and Chishiya is just like done
- Hayato’s mom sues or something and he realizes where he actually wants to stand in this
- meeting Kuina somehow (maybe mandated group therapy? Maybe he like ended up in a psych ward from the stress / an attempt or something and met her in the hospital/ward after bcuz she’s also dealing w her own shit and they become friends and that also becomes the like I don’t want to go back to this thing- or maybe her mom is a patient in the hospital but not his department and she finds him on a bad day, maybe after another letter or j a normal day but everything is getting to him and hes upset hes breaking down over nothing- and they become friends and keep seeking each other out. Chishiya warns her abt the hospital’s corruption and she gets her mom out and he gets out then too maybe)
And then once he gets there maybe it’s like a 5+1 of getting adjusted to new residency and Ippei starts featuring more and more?
5 firsts of a new hospital- and one second.
1: First Threshold- Chishiya walks into the doors of his new hospital- and someone is there to hold the door for him. He says thank you and keeps walking (he’s trying to be like more nice so he says thank you vs j not saying anything lol). He thinks abt how it looks different than his last hospital- pediatric specialist hospital maybe so everything is v decorated and kid themed- even the person who was holding the door for him had a colorful bracelet.
2: First Coworker he talks to- Chishiya has been doing admin tasks all first half of shift w HR and is tired lol, hid away somewhere for lunch / went out to not deal w ppl and is now back for second half- attending is showing him around to everyone and giving rounds for what patients are in dept atm. Attending gets busy halfway through so pulls Ippei, who was standing nearby, to show Chishiya the rest of the space / get up to speed. Ippei is first person he actually like talks to attending was kind of j talking at him and showing around and stuff which is not unfamiliar, but Ippei shows him around and then asks how he is / how hes finding it. Chishiya says something societally acceptable but is surprised to be asked- and maybe notices Ippei’s bracelet and realizes it;s the same one from before.
3: First Patient: Chishiya gets assigned to a case and walks in on it to see Ippei already there- and releases the patient back to Ippei’s care when he finishes his exam/intake and Ippei smiles at him and Chishiya somehow finds himself actually smiling back- and is like wtf / why am I actually smiling and not fake smiling is this sorcery- why does Ippei make him feel comfy/familar/safe
4: First Commute: Kuina has been taking Chishiya to and from work for the first couple days (everything has been fine, Chishiya is super exhausted, coworkers seem normal so far- all Chishiya is rly thinking abt is exhausted bcuz getting used to new job lol, hasn’t run into Ippei much j not assigned to same cases). Kuina is busy when he gets off shift this time tho, so he has to take the bus home. He goes to the bus stop- and Ippei is already there. He remembers him and has the strange urge to sit near him- but he would have to talk then and what would he even say / why does he want to do this its a weird feeling lol. Before he can figure out what he wants to do (stand awkwardly far away or behind shelter and pretend he didn’t see him or) Ippei makes the choice for him and is like Hi! Chishiya, right? I haven’t run into you lately- it’s nice to see you again! (and maybe does some anxious rambling abt like not in a weird way you just seem cool so I thought it could be nice to talk again and etc and Chishiya is like why do I find this endearing). They sit on the bus together- Maybe Ippei offers his seat and Chishiya refuses and then Chishiya almost falls over bcuz of the bus stopping or starting (he doesn’t have amazing balance in the first place and exhaustion is not helping). Ippei catches him and its dramatic and Chishiya feels v warm and his touch felt nice and usually Chishiya finds touch mildly awkward (other than w Kuina for some reason) and Chishiya is confused. Ippei makes him sit / shares a granola bar and is liek why do doctors never take care of themselves / his nurse side starts to show through and it’s sweet (Chishiya secretly likes getting taken care of even if he will never admit it- Kuina does shit like get things on high shelves from him and his brainis like yesss and he’s embarassed bcuz hes independant and a grown adult but like his brain is like never got to be taken care of as a kid always j had to do everything and withstand everything or be shamed for it and it craves being taken care of in some capacity). Maybe they talk after and are more comfortable w each other and it’s nice- have things in common like a show Ippei likes that Kuina has gotten Chishiya into idk. (Also random thought but I think Ippei crochets or knits). Ippei is surprised by his stop happening and is like oh shoot gotta go- and its cute. Chishiya gets home and passes out lol.
5: First time he loses a patient: his attending (who is very nice here) tells him to take a break and Chishiya is like i’m fine(hes a second/third year resident this is hardly his first patient death hes expected to deal with it)- but attending is like no, take it (and attending talks to parents vs making Chishiya do it). And he goes to a hidden area (maybe secret break room that ppl who are motivated to find quiet dark corners find, like an abandoned room or something) and is just kind of sitting there and trying not to spiral- taking care of himself by like eating and drinking something and using the bathroom and expecting his needs to be fixed but he still feels off and he isn’t sure why because this is v much not his first patient death- but maybe internally something made him think like oh bad things only happened w corruption and maybe it will be fine now- and logically deaths happen brain is just like we said this would be safe and it’s not safe and- yea. Ippei finds him (Ippei also likes a quiet space and maybe was coming there to get a quick snack break) and notices Chishiya seems off and asks / maybe knows about the patient bcuz works in the department- and Chishiya ends up rambling (maybe is on v end hours of a super long shift also so exhausted) and yea. Ippei helps- they talk and maybe Ippei asks if he can hug him and Chishiya considers (and is so happy to be asked no one except Kuina has ever asked they just assume-) and says yes. It feels nice- and it helps. They go back out together and he feels okay again.
+1: Not a first. Something where Chishiya seeks out Ippei intentionally- maybe they’re at a staff mixer or just the bus stop at home or out w Kuina and sees Ippei alone or invites Ippei to a cafe after work after a hard shift- and they just talk. And it’s nice- and means something that Chisihiya sought him out vs ending up in an interaction bcuz of circumstance or Ippei making the first move. Maybe saw Ippei feeling down earlier and gets to help him feel less down for once.

And Ippei is in background for a few until he fully shows up as his own one
- the initial horribleness of his hospital (wow life can be worse which is p shit since he was already having a horrible time)
- the breaking point that makes him not take it anymore
- actually having friends / a non toxic workplace and the craziness of it (wow, life can be like this?) (Ippei features in background)
- crush on Ippei / being asked out???
- plus one something abt his life now (not a world shift but like oh he’s happy w Kuina and Ippei, maybe the crush one is more angsty then abt him being in his head abt deserving it and whatever)
5+1 abt Chishiya adjusting to his new hospital and Ippei features a lot and its fluffy and sweet
Maybe Chishiya specifically is interacting a lot w Ippei because
- Ippei is in charge of some sort of speciality task like idk maybe they need a sign language translator and he knows sign and while they do also have a remote translator Ippei is just generally assigned as their nurse bcuz it’s j easier as well, and maybe Chishiya also knows sign and that’s why he gets assigned to their case primarily also and they bond over it
- Ippei gets assigned to Chishiya for some reason maybe as like show him around / help out since he’s new j point of contact person
- maybe their lockers are right next to each other and they keep having the same schedule
- maybe they live near each other / take the same bus route idk
