Welcome to Stoncy Week 2026! This event runs from July 19th – 25th and is dedicated to Steve, Nancy, and Jonathan from Stranger Things. Acceptable fanworks include fanfiction, gifs, graphics, video edits, fan art, podfics, playlists, and more. Tag #stoncyweek2026 and/or @stoncyweek2026 when posting your creations. The AO3 collection will open on July 19th and can be found here.
You can find the text version of the prompts (and bonus prompts!!!) under the cut. If you have any other questions, send an ask or check out the FAQ.
Thank you and happy creating!!! So excited to see what everyone comes up with!
There are three prompts per day, with a Free Choice day at the end of the week. The prompts were designed so that each day would have at least one prompt aimed toward gif and/or edit makers, but of course, you may create your work based on whichever prompt inspires you.
The prompts are:
Day One (July 19): Summer | Forced proximity | Favorite moment(s)
Day Two (July 20): Second chances | Philly | Nail bat
Day Three (July 21): Long distance | Secret relationship | Jealousy
Day Four (July 22): Alternate Universe | Time loop | Parallels
Day Five (July 23): Road trip | Radio station | Song lyrics
Day Six (July 24): Reunions | Fix-it | Monster hunting
Day Seven (July 25): Free Choice!
BONUS PROMPTS:
Stonathan → Stoncy: Most Stoncy dynamics start with Steve and Nancy as an already established couple, Jonathan and Nancy as an already established couple, or all three of them single. This prompt goes a different direction and poses Steve and Jonathan as the already established couple, instead. Could be set in an alternate universe, in canon, post-canon, or whatever direction you want to take it!
“Three person poly relationship made up of two people who are already dating trying to coax someone with horrific self worth issues into a loving relationship. Stray cat style.”: Inspired by this Tumblr post. Is Steve, Nancy, or Jonathan the stray cat? You get to decide!
The wind from Challengers that makes you cheat: Featured in Chappell Roan’s music video for The Subway and made famous by the scene in Challengers (2024) in which Tashi kisses Patrick in an empty parking lot while powerful gusts of wind surround them, this prompt poses the question, “What if ‘the wind that makes you cheat’ was a trope in the same vein as the sex pollen trope?” Who’s doing the cheating, who’s being cheated on, and how does it get resolved? The world is your oyster!
THANK YOU to everyone who participated in Stoncy Week! If you created something that didn't get reblogged, shoot an ask and I'll fix that ASAP. If you posted something on AO3 but haven't added it to the collection, don't forget to add it here (and if you're having trouble, let me know!)
Didn't finish your work in time? Don't worry; the AO3 collection will stay open for another three weeks! If you're posting on here also, you can still tag the blog and use the tags #stoncyweek and/or #stoncyweek2026 as well.
lonnie byers is a bad father.
jonathan byers has known this since he was six.
let down yet again by his father, jonathan retreats to comfort himself in quiet, pained solitude. steve and nancy know him well enough to come over anyway.
hi! i just published my fic but i was having trouble finding the collection when typing in the box to add it. i can see it when i follow the link from your blog but typing "stoncy week 2026" or any kind of variation doesn't seem to yield anything on ao3 to add the fic. 😭 i'm guessing i'm doing something wrong but idk what!!
Hello! There are a couple of ways to add to the collection. If you go to this link and click “post to the collection,” that will add your fic to the collection. Otherwise, when posting, under “post to collections / challenges,” you can type in “stoncyweek2026” with no spaces (if nothing comes up, don’t worry, it should still work.) if none of that works let me know and i can request your fic be added to the collection! I hope this helps!
And with that, we've made it to the final day of Stoncy Week! Day seven's prompt is Free Choice, so anything goes -- use today to post something related to one of the bonus prompts, or come up with whatever your heart so chooses. Just be sure to tag this blog and use the tags #stoncyweek or #stoncyweek2026 in your posts, and add your AO3 works to the collection here. If you're crossposting on X/Twitter or Bluesky, tag @/stoncyweek over there, too.
To browse this week's event creations by prompt or format type, check out the handy-dandy navigation page. And if you posted something earlier this week and it still hasn't been reblogged, or if you added something to the AO3 collection and it hasn't been approved, then please send me an ask, and I'll get to it ASAP.
Once again, thank you to everyone who has participated in this event! And if you didn't finish your work in time, don't panic -- works will be reblogged and/or added to the AO3 collection up to three weeks after the end of the event.
Can't wait to see what people come up with for the last day!
“At first I wasn’t sure I should leave Holly alone, but…” Nancy shakes her head with a laugh. It’s supposed to sound wry, but somehow, it comes out a little hollow. “But I guess that’s stupid now, right? I mean…it’s over. All of it, it’s really over.”
Nancy expects to see twin expressions of relief on Jonathan and Steve’s faces—the same kind of relief she knows she should be feeling. She expects that relief to crash over all three of them at once, for them to finally bask in it together.
Instead, Jonathan looks over at Steve. Steve looks back.
And then Jonathan says in a careful tone, “Nancy…I think we should talk about earlier.”
It's the penultimate day of Stoncy Week! Day six's prompts are reunions, fix-it, and monster hunting. Tag this blog, use the tags #stoncyweek or #stoncyweek2026 in your posts, and add AO3 works to the collection here.
It's hard to believe tomorrow is the last day of the event! Thank you so much to everyone who has participated by sharing their incredible works with us.
jonathan/steve/nancy, steve & robin & nancy & jonathan | 1/6 chapters | post-canon, road trip, friends to lovers, slow burn
Steve lets out a long, heavy breath. “Look,” he says. “I’m not…well, honestly, I don’t have anything else going on this summer. I want to do something fun. And, well, I want to do it with you guys.”
Or: Steve buys a camper and convinces Robin, Nancy, and Jonathan to take a summer road trip. What could go wrong?
written for day 5 "road trip" for @stoncyweek2026!
The prompts for day five of Stoncy Week are road trip, radio station, and song lyrics. Tag this blog and use the tags #stoncyweek or #stoncyweek2026 in your posts, and post AO3 works to the collection here.
(P.S. If you've created something for one of the bonus prompts, don't forget that your work can be posted on any day of the event!)
over and over again (we keep that old wheel turning)

A long silence stretches between them. Steve looks pointedly at Jonathan. Jonathan looks pointedly away. And then, at last, he slowly lets out a breath.
“Okay,” Jonathan says finally. “So, the thing is…Steve and I are together.”
Nancy looks between both of them, blinking. Then she laughs, once, sharp and surprised.
Jonathan and Steve do not.
Nancy’s laughter abruptly dies. “Wait,” she says after a beat. “…What?”
Or: Nancy moves to New York, discovers her ex-boyfriends are dating, and has absolutely zero feelings about it.
Can't believe we're over halfway through Stoncy Week already! Day four's prompts are AU, time loop, and parallels. Don't forget to tag this blog and use the tags #stoncyweek or #stoncyweek2026 in your posts, and if you're posting on AO3, add your work to the collection here.
