I still have the game and I play it from time to time, I like playing the drums. Ringo is my favourite Beatle, actually! I've liked him the most since day one, haha. Why is John your favourite though? And thank you, my music taste is all over the place really lol. I'm not a big fan of The Rolling Stones either, just heard some of their hit songs and I go back to those from time to time. I'd love some recommendations from classic rock though, maybe some tracks from your top 5 bands? :D

It’s a weird, long story about why John’s my favourite - but what it comes down to is that I just see a lot of my personality in him. It was bizarre, because when I first got into The Beatles, I wasn’t expecting anyone to have a personality like mine, or weird quirks like me. Like, John’s favourite colour is green and favourite number is nine. Like mine. How bizarrely specific is that? Lol.

That's a cool story, mine's a bit embarrassing since it all started when we were playing The Beatles Rockband with some friends, lol. But in general I tend to be a sucker for indie rock - indie rock, alternative rock and indie pop are my personal holy trinity of genres. Some favourites include Mew, Placebo, Arctic Monkeys, Sigur Rós, Marina and the Diamonds... From classic rock I've mainly listened to The Beatles's solo stuff (and some Yoko), Queen and The Rolling Stones, not much to brag about.

No, that’s pretty cool, lol. I remember I wanted that game so badly after I got into The Beatles. All I wanted to do was play the drums because Ringo’s way underrated (he’s actually my second-favourite Beatle behind John). Who’s your favourite Beatle?

You still have a really rad taste in music though, I’ve got to admit. Weirdly, I’m not much into The Rolling Stones. I never really got into them like others have, but I like them all right. I have a list of favourite bands and stuff on my about me page, you can try out a couple of bands that sound interesting to you and I’ll recommend my favourite songs by them if you wanted.

That's completely alright and I understand, it's just that I don't really trust tumblr's messaging system at times, lol. I never actually thought I'd get into nursing but here I am. Anyway, I see that your taste in classic rock is a lot greater than mine. I'm only a 'proper fan' of The Beatles. I don't know why but I just never know where to really start when I introduce myself to new bands... What got you into The Beatles though? :)

Well, it started because of The Beatles. My 8th grade science teacher was playing Abbey Road and I was like “Oh, hey, I think I know a couple of these”. Then I went home and from there it just sort of took off. That was like five years ago, which seems hella crazy when you look back on it, you know? From there I just got into other music. I look at my favourite bands now, and I honestly can’t say they would’ve been my favourite bands years ago. Mostly because I’d never heard them. So if you’re looking to get into new bands from the classic era, just start with the most popular ones and go from there. At least that’s what I did. You’ll go from “Come Together” to, uh, “Revolution 9″ in a matter of no time, lol. Metaphorically speaking, I mean. What other bands do you like?

I see! Writing is also a hobby of mine even though I haven't written in quite a while, I'm suffering from a terrible writer's block. I've thought of publishing something someday, but that's going to be much later in life. I'm studying to become a nurse, started this year! Lately I've been spending a lot of time going through a bunch of laws related to health etc. but I'm looking forward to practical work. Maths were never really my thing either so that kind of terrifies me already...

I’m working, sort of? I’m a writer, but I guess it’s not really paying for anything yet, lol. So yes, but no. How’s the school work? What subject is it? I’m pretty good at history and English and stuff; but not so much with maths or science.

Ho ho ho, Classic Rock Fandom! Christmas is coming and so is The Secret Rocker Santa project! I started this project back in 2013 and it was a prosperous start. Almost 500 classic rock fans have joined, made new friends and shared good emotions together. Last year the project was even more successful, so I feel motivated to keep this tradition going and I hope that you’ll help me to make it big this year too.

What is Secret Santa?

Secret Santa is a tumblr-wide “match-maker” where you will anonymously compliment/befriend a tumblr user who is randomly assigned to you and in turn, you will be assigned to someone else.

How it works:

From now until November 25th, message me saying you want to participate in Secret Rocker Santa. (you can’t do it anonymously)

I need to know your age and favourite bands/singers (Your list can contain 5 or less favourites). However, if your bands/singers are not very popular in this fandom, it’s possible that your pair might not share the same interests.

If you are older than 20 years old, you may be paired with someone with different interests or age, since most of the people who sign up are 13-22 years old.

YOUR ASK BOX MUST BE OPEN FOR EVERYONE.

Your blog doesn’t have to be classic-rock-related, you just need to be a fan. 

During the last days of November (the 25th through the 30th) I will be randomly assigning people to their Secret Rocker Santas. You will receive a message from me telling you their information, but it would be extremely helpful if you could message me first to find out who is your pair, that would help me to reduce the tumblr messaging limit problem. You might get a message from my second account daenerys-drogon-targaryen, so don’t be surprised, you can trust the information.

You will start messaging your pair ANONYMOUSLY on the 1st of December and continue until Christmas (December 25th), which is when you will reveal yourself and (hopefully) have made a new friend.

You can send your pair whatever you want (as long as you do not reveal your identity), your job is to make your pair feel happier! (Some ideas: lyrics, pictures, facts, play games, chat and of course do things that are not only associated with Classic rock).

Be careful - make sure you are messaging your pair anonymously.

Some people might get more than one santa or will be assigned to more than one person, since many unexpected things can happen and I want to make sure that everybody will have a pair. So if you are not able to be a secret santa for two people let me know. (You can also let me know if you’d like to be a santa for two or more people)

Please tag messages that you receive from your secret santa and related posts as #SRS, so your santa will be able to find your answers easier. (If you don’t know how to do it - message me)

REMEMBER:

If you’re not committed to messaging your Santa at least few times a week - DO NOT SIGN UP. I want everyone to have a good santa.

If your Santa has not contacted you in over a week, message me and I will gently remind them or find you another one.
