1st of march: ♡
spring is coming. the daffodils, sun-blessed heralds of the longer days, are in full bloom. the crocuses, too, emerging in deep violets and pale, dawn-kissed yellows. the snowdrops begin to take their bow, the white goblets weary from carrying dew and rainfall for faery souls. vivaldi plays, faintly, a delicate crescendo that cries for the soul to wake, wake and bask in the fresh light and feel the raindrops not as melancholic but as cleansing, a promise for new life to come.
as yeats writes: ‘peace comes dropping slow, dropping from the veils of the morning to where the cricket sings; there midnight’s all a glimmer, and noon a purple glow; and evening full of the linnet’s wing’
