HOLY SHIT

WHAT A SHOW.

I remember being interested in DWD when I heard it was a reverse harem, and I remember hating on the first episode. I thought it was all so ridiculous and horribly done. So much so, that I followed the show from week one just to make fun of the characters and the musical numbers.

I honestly had no idea that I was developing some kind of deep-seated love for Ritsuka, Azuna, Lindo, and the devils until somewhere along episode 4 when I realized that I was actually following this anime because I fucking loved it. The humor, the songs, all of it. DWD is so fucking imperfect and that’s why I love it so much.

Now, there is a void in my heart, and I’m seriously gonna miss waiting for a new episode with another funny musical number. Twelve weeks ago, I thought this show was a half-baked attempt at getting girls to fawn over irritating characters, but it ended with so much heart, and I only have mad love for this show. I really hope that we get a second season that’s just as funny and heartwarming as this one.

honestly Ritsuka Tachibana is like the best reverse harem protagonist ever?? like yeah she somehow falls for “oh I know where your mother is” every goddamn time but she does stuff and the only reason she has to rely on the guys so often is because she’s human and they’re not and she’s just a great character and DWD needs a second season and Rem and Ritsuka will get together if it kills me
