HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

As a resolution I have decided to exercise my creativity and keep up with my blogging. Last year I struggled a lot with creating balance in my life and towards the end of the year I got sucked into a monotonous pattern that sucked the creativity right out of my soul. So I need to do some nurturing.

I am in pursuit of a passion project. I want to do something meaningful and thoughtful express who I am and how I see things. Till I get there I am going to try my best and explore different mediums and approaches till I find one that speaks to me. I want to go back to my roots to my crafting days and incorporate my years of vocal training in some way. I want to use all of my life experiences as the foundations for what I'm creating. The challenge is keeping up with it and making the time a priority to do follow through. I seek balance in my personal and professional life and to nurture the talents that have been bestowed upon me.

Originally posted on Bored Panda: Fascinated by the fast color-changing nature of the squid’s skin, Tim and Greg from Backyard Brains connected an iPod nano to the squid’s fin nerve and played “Insane in the Brain” by Cypress Hill.

“The results were both interesting and beautiful.”

Backyard Brains explain that squids (like many other cephalopods) can quickly control pigmented cells calledchromatophores to reflect light. The Longfin Inshore has 3 different chromatophore colors: Brown, Red, and Yellow.

The video is a view through an 8x microscope zoomed in on the dorsal side of the fin.

This video is pure sex. I love everything about it. Being a designer that loves the process just as much as the final product I really appreciated the audio in this video. Being able to hear the leather being inlayed into the camera, watch every stitch. Of course I also love everything Hermes so this was a treat to see.

I've been seeing a resurgence of kaleidoscope pattern in all forms of design. I have to say I took notice in 2009 when Alexander McQueen came out with his kaleidescope dress. And since then there other designers of different trades that following suit. 

I have to say I am keen to try my own kaleidoscope pattern project.
