where did matt get his survival instincts? were they always there or did he develop them quickly after their world changed?

what is something that dimples and matt experienced that made them feel a little normal again? for ex, finding their favorite candy or wandering an old musum etc.

how far have they travelled? are they staying near where they grew up or are they traveling toward some place specific.

1. after the triplets’ mum was infected and they had to helplessly witness her transform and also end with her suffering (matt was the one to do it) besides from watching someone get infected in general for the first time, matt promised himself that he would never see someone he cared about through that again. that early point, while he was when he the most affected by his mothers’ dead, was when he developed his survival skill extremely quickly — training for hours with weapons, putting himself in dangerous situations, and participating in every supply run that was made so he could be trained when things went south. it was also a way to distract himself for a while.

but he’d also always had part of that inside him too — dimples sometimes jokes saying that he was born for this world. he was used to being alone, had always been a very independent person and had that distrustful vibe in him.

2. aside from finding chris’ cap a few chapters ago, what makes dimples feel the most normal is writing in her journal, a routine she’s had for years. getting close to any kind of docile animal also lifts her spirit. when it comes to matt, it always has something to do with dimples. dimples forcing matt to sing so she can do a dance she suddenly remembers, dimples putting on a fashion show for him when they find a closet full of clothes, dimples jumping in excitement when she finds her favorite chocolate in a shop… the few times he smiles are always directed at her.

3. their goal has always been to follow the path that would make them find their families. after the fire, their decision was to take the road that went south and west, as he had had conversations with nick and chris metioning that one being the safest option since it had the least walkers. and they covered much of that route during this time, but their stay at the camp has left them feeling somewhat lost.

chris is so boring in terms of his style but its mostly bc he wants to lay low. black hoodies, baggy jeans, beanies, super basic. chris has his right arm full of tattoos. some are stick and pokes, some are from his friend that got their hands on a tatoo gun, some he's even done himself. he has one or two he's actually paid a professional to do. they're kind of random. he's got a large spider, the area code 415, some barbed wire, a joker playing card, the grim reaper, a weed leaf, and some other random shit.

smoke's been wanting to get more tattoos but she has commitment issues lmao. as of right now, she only has a S A I N T tattoo on her left ribcage. in terms of her style, she loves street style and gold jewelry. she has the expert ability of dressing up or dressing down, but she's most comfortable in baggy 'boyish' clothes. she loves bright colors but can also rock neutrals and prints like camo or leopard. you can always find her wearing headphones or in her favorite beanie. she's fond of hoodies and we may find her stealing one of two of chris's in the near future.
