“ D E V I L - M A Y - C A R E ”
the final disposables edit to go alongside the black and white footage.
this one is in sync with the music, and now feel it is complete
had a really great experience for our final crit of the year - it turned into a lil exhibition that required us to do promo, space set up and discuss our own work with others as well as comment on others.
i received some amazing feedback as well as the inevitable criticisms which has really helped me to see how the work is read as a whole, and what i can work on over the next week prior to hand-in.
i was worried about how my first draft of the short film would be viewed, as i wasn't happy with it, but i feel it was successful regardless.
“gap in the clouds” pt 2 - scans of the imagery used for the top portion of my suitcase
bringing vintage imagery into the present with use of colour, texture and patterns that are becoming increasingly popular in contemporary art.
this is one of my favourite art forms, image manipulation, as i love reinventing the original meaning of the image and the freedom with materials that this offers

draft one of the imagery edited together
this isn’t the final soundtrack i’ll be using, and i’m going to work to get the audio and visuals more cohesive
i will also be adding text (either at the start or the end... or both) as seen in the previous video
i’ve settled on a title finally.. “devil-may-care”
“DEVIL-MAY-CARE”
finally!!! the edited version of the disposable snaps taken during the shoot
this will play alongside the footage i edited together of real footage from the 60s
the final images edited with light leaks, textures and a filter with a neutral, orange undertone
now to add boarders as inspired by the collages i made originally (unsure if i will actually use them or just go with this version)
i think i prefer these cropped... also unsure whether to have all three or narrow it down to one as i already have two collage style images in the series
i am far too young to be a father :’)

these are the images in the series that required photoshop editing, adding an element of collage

after hours of trialling different filters, editing combinations and colour correcting, i think i've finally settled on this filter by vsco .. it gives off an aged feel which is what i was aiming for, and although the colour palette is orange/brown based rather than pink as i had originally set out to convey, i think it works more cohesively as a series with this neutral tone (light leaks etc to still be added)
