Clarke watched him take her card, his eyes moving over her contact information for a quick moment before he placed it down on the table and stood up. That motion was all she needed to know that interview had come to a close, and she hoped for the sake of the case she’d be hearing from Bellamy Blake within the week. Following him through his house and towards the door, Clarke nodded her head in agreement when he spoke of keeping in touch, and she couldn’t help but send him a warm smile when he told her to keep her phones volume on. As his lips turned upwards in a smirk, something she honestly hadn’t expected him capable of, Clarke held her hand out for him to shake. “Don’t worry, Mr. Blake, I’ll make sure the volume is on it’s highest setting.”
Sending him one last smile, Clarke walked out the door and once it was shut behind her, she let out a deep sigh. That interview had to have been the shortest, yet most stressful she had ever had, and it left her with a need for a hot bubble bath and a large glass of red wine.

After getting home, Clarke reported back to Kane on how the interview went and spent the rest of the night relaxing. Always a night owl, she found herself seated on her couch, half a bottle of wine gone, with the case files open on her coffee table around her. She was tired, but not tired enough to make her way to her bed. Looking up at her clock, she noted it was almost 3 am and that she should probably get to be soon. Clarke was in the process of cleaning everything up when he phone rang, a number she didn’t recognize. After a minute of hesitation, she answered and was quick to realize it was Bellamy.
His instructions were short and gruff, telling her to get to his apartment asap, and without much of a response she slipped her shoes on, grabbed her keys and was out the door. It took probably ten minutes to get to his house, the empty late night roads making it easier to get there fast. Running out her car door, she pounded on his apartment door, only taking a moment to realize she was in her pajamas for the night and hadn’t been able to change. But when the door opened, two large men standing in her way, Clarke didn’t hesitate to push past them until she laid eyes on Bellamy, and another man bleeding out on the couch. “Shit. Okay, I need a clean needle, thread, warm water and towels. Now!” She demanded, running to the patient and quickly figuring out the kind to state he was in and where the blood was coming from. “What the hell happened?”
his hands were slick with blood as he slid his phone into his pocket. he had only interviewed her a few hours earlier but in the moment it felt like a lifetime. Bellamy shifted his body to focus his attention back to the newbie that had caused so much damn trouble. really it wasn’t Jasper’s fault. the night was supposed to be smooth sailing. nothing had been brewing as far as he had been in the know of but apparently, that had been completely incorrect information. “don’t worry kid, the doc is coming.” he ignored the pain filled rambling as he presses on the wound from the gunshot he knew was painful. if it were anywhere else in his body, Bell would have dug it out himself and sewn it up but the torso made him nervous. he couldn’t tell if it was a trough and fuck if he knew if anything bad his hit on the way.
he had enough blood on his hands, he didn’t need someone he actually sort of liked there too.
in a blink, there was pounding on his door and someone else was reaching to get it. his hand still firmly in place with him provoking rambling from the younger kid leaning towards the land of passing the fuck out. taking in the sight of what he assumed was her pyjamas he ignored the sass-filled comment he had building on his tongue when none of his men were moving. “she didn’t fucking stutter.” Bellamy growled out and people were jumping to move when she came towards him. shifting so he was out of her way he waited for her hands to take his place before moving aside.
“he got shot. i can’t tell if it is a through and through or not so i figured it was your area of expertise doc.” it was his way of saying she was hired but they could wait to go into the details later. “consider it a crash course.”
