That Stare

Gundam Tanaka. Sure, his name might sound odd. On the street, you wouldn't expect his job to be a stripper at Temptation. Only when he's heading to his job does he look the part - hair styled, dressed to impress. The scarf always comes with him, though. He even strips with the damn thing most of the time. Seems the only way to keep the guy is to let him have some of those quirky habits he has and let him be. It certainly keeps him quiet for most of his performances - which is a good thing, really. The stuff that comes out of his mouth when he does speak is not the sexy dialogue that they hope to hear from that deep voice.

"How about a corpse reviver? It’s rather refreshing, said to invigorate the drinker! But you have to know it does contain absinthe, so it’s rather strong, even if it’s only two drops."

"Certainly," he said, after a low, dark chuckle.  "I have had it before."

"Here you go! Corpse Reviver!" She said as she handed the yellow cocktail in its glass to Tanaka.

Then he'll wander off to start drinking it.

He’d been practicing in an unoccupied private booth while Sonia had been performing.  She was newer than many of the others, he’d heard.  There were a few new ones - perhaps he was missing one, but it was just Makoto Naegi and Sonia “Nevermind”.  There was a rumor that one of their bartenders had expressed interest in learning more, but…

Who knew.  He wasn’t the best at keeping up to date on whispers like that.  

He himself counted as a newbie, sort of.  He was new to Temptation, not to the career.  He’d started in Vice and had stayed at Vice.  He’d only been recruited recently by the club he currently entertained in.

However, it was pretty early in the morning.  Several hours before six in the morning and it’d be a few until the sun was up.  Was she probably fine, gathering her stuff up to go home?  Was anything likely to happen?  Yes, she was fine.  No, probably nothing would happen.

But just like strippers dealing with unwarranted touches, sometimes guests would cause trouble in the parking lots.

He didn’t know if she was walking home, taking a car, or what.  So on a whim, he continued to wait and, finally as she was heading out the door, he was waiting, having moved spots to lean against the shadowed wall beside the staff doorway.  ”Halt,” Gundam said in his usual tone.  ”I am also leaving at this time.”

There was probably something he should add to that.

♀ —— [ The former princess was both new to the job and to the strip club. Exotic dancing was something she did not imagine working at all. Although she disliked being touched by strangers, she surprisingly enjoyed dancing on a pole. She knew she had the physical appearance to portray as a stripper, so it was alright with her. The term “Nevermind” came out of nowhere and she had yet to think of a stage name for herself.

               Before Sonia nearly opened the door, a shadow of another person appeared behind her. She unfortunately had no place to sleep in. The club did not offer her shelter. Her weekly salary was not enough to buy her an apartment or a housing lot. What she wanted was some fresh air, and perhaps witness sun rise. If she stayed in the building longer, she would have missed it.

               ”Halt” was the first word she heard that morning. Birds singing and crickets chirping outside would not be counted. Sonia thought of singing along with the animals, but the lifestyle of a stripper was oddly different. They rarely show innocence towards others. Experiences on lust would be more than love itself.

               Gundam Tanaka was one of the co-workers she was intrigued by the most— she was not sure on why she felt that way about him. Maybe it was his oddly grey-ish skin tone, his two eye colours, or the use of his scarf… The blonde was curious. Noticing him speak to her was a good opportunity to actually engage in a conversation with him. She turned her head to look at him and she decided to greet with a smile: ]

"Hello there! Are you going home or are you simply planning to stroll around town?"

Great!  Yes, she was speaking.  This would go splendidly.  Now that she was talking, things would--

This was going to go terribly.

"I am not surprised by your curiosity.  Of course you would desire to know the plans of one such as I.  Fret not, for this time, I will enlighten you," he said, glancing dramatically down the street.  The slightest gust of wind sent the ends of his scarf fluttering for the briefest moment.  Pity he wasn't sure what to say after all that filler.  Should he tell her that he wanted to see if she needed company on her way home?  Wouldn't that sound like he was trying to flirt?  He just wanted to get to know her better.  He wanted to get to know all of his coworkers better.  Except the Vessel.  He was strange.   

Then again...  There was another way he could ask.  Yeah.  He took a breath.  "No, no, you needn't say it.  From the look on your face it is clear enough.  Since you desire it so, I will allow it.  Very well, I will accompany you as you head to your car - or home, should you be walking."
