Taeon and Gwain; the Pumpkin Patch

Their day started off late in the morning. The coffee was brewing, the fireplace lit and the morning sun shining brightly. There was no cloud in the sky in the warm autumn day. Thinking of their promise last week. How they promised they’d at least spend one day together in their busy lives. He was the Captain of the guard, and he was the High Enchanter.

“Promise we’ll spend the day together?” He asked. “I promise.” The Captain responded. It was a week since then, he still wore his satin robe and his flannel pyjama pants. “Morning, my love.” His groggy, tired, just waking up voice echoed into the room. Turning around to face him, he couldn’t help but smile seeing how he rubbed his right eye. His hair was a complete mess, and he figured it must’ve been the sheets that tousled up his long auburn hair.

The tie around his hair was loose and just below his shoulder as he came near. “What do we have planned today my dear?” He asked him. The Captain looked at him perplexed as he hasn’t thought about it either. “I… didn’t plan anything.” He responded with a mild sense of disappointment. Taeon cupped his cheeks and placed a soft kiss on his lips. “I saw a flyer a few days ago, how about we go to the Pumpkin Patch and get ourselves some Pumpkins?”

Seeing how his beloved smiled and became more relaxed, he nodded slowly and placed his own hands over his. “Let’s a make a date out of it.” Gwain finally said. For the next hour, they got themselves ready to head out for the remainder of the day. Walking hand and hand together as they approached High Hill Acres. “Let’s find the biggest pumpkins and carve them tonight.” The Captain smiled glancing down to Taeon and responded with a gentle squeeze.

Hours passed with them smiling, laughing and snapping pictures along the way. Taeon made sure they had their mini photoshoot, his magic held up his camera and would snap photos at any moment. By the time evening hit, they already had their pumpkins chosen and with just a snap of his fingers. They were portalled and standing in the foyer of Taeon’s home.

“Let’s get these carved up.” Gwain chimed reaching over to bring his love with him to the dining table. The Enchanter got busy and brought out the supplies they needed just so they could begin their work. Sneaking a glance over at his auburn hair coloured boyfriend. A soft, affectionate smile curled across his lips as he watched the focused look on his face. “Hey.” He spoke catching his attention.

“Let’s make this a tradition… just for us.” Gwain glanced over and smiled in response. “Our first tradition.” A shy smile crept over his lips as Tae nodded. “Our first.”
