Turning a taap into a challenge is the simplest thing ever! Just taap something the way you normally do. On the last step of taaping something, just remember to turn the option of challenging your friends to "ON" and you're done!

Taap.it: We Roll'd Out a Game

Hey guys, what’s taapin’? I’ll tell you what, our new iPhone update! We have now integrated a game function so our app can be more interactive, and useful for when you’re bored.

With our new game, you can now earn points easier than ever. Just answer questions correctly about your friends’ locked taaps on your Journal. You only have one chance, but if you guess correctly, the taap will become unlocked, and you’ll be rewarded with 10 Taap.it points! If you're wrong, you won't be able to guess again about that taap.

But you have to act quick! If you don’t unlock those taaps fast enough, your other friends will snatch them away before your eyes.

Now let's talk about how to make your taap a challenge. It's simple! After you taap something, on the screen you normally check to share your taaps on your other social media platforms, there will be an option that allows you to turn your taap into a challenge. Just switch the option to "ON" and you're good to go.

This game will definitely spur your competitive spirit and test your knowledge about your interests. Can you tell the difference between Halal food from a cart and a restaurant? How about the difference between a Gucci handbag and one by Dolce and Gabbana? We at Taap.it say, take on the challenge!

We’ll keep you updated on other nifty goodies we added to the new version for the app. For now, go get the app, ‘cause we just rolled out the update today!

Website Makeover!!

Did you go onto Taap.it today and think, what is this shiny new website where Taap.it used to be? Well, we called in the team and gave our site a much-needed makeover! No more cheesy ocean background, no more huge chunky list of unorganized items, we slimmed and sleeked down to the sexy thing it is now.

But never fear, it’s still us! Our appearance may have changed, but we’re still going to bring you the same awesome features we provided before, with a few improvements here and there to make your lives easier.

Here are some of the major changes:

- Our content has become much more organized! We now have a section for the most popular items and a section for the most recent items. So less sifting on your part.

- The categories of the old navigation bar are now on the left instead of the top, and it’s friendlier than ever! The new navigation bar on top give you quick and easy access to the Leaderboard and the Taap.it template (for taaping stuff, of course).

- The new layout includes the stream on the right-hand side, much like the one on your Feed on the iPhone app. Now, you’ll always be able to see what all your friends are taaping!

- We’ve also introduced the map. In case you’ve forgotten where you are, you’ll know, but you’ll also be able to tell right away where you can get all the precious taap.it items. 

- If you haven’t noticed, going to Taap.it no longer shows the app landing page. Instead it takes you directly to our market page. To download our apps, click on “Free Mobile Apps,” under the new navigation bar.

Taap.it - Android Release! (The differences)

Hey Taapers! This week we bring to you our long awaited release of Taap.it on the Android Market! (yaaaaaay, bring on the fanfare!)

We tried to bring to the Android the same great Taap.it experience you get on the iPhone version of the app; so, for the most part, the Android version is the same as the iPhone version of the app. Stay tuned for a step-by-step pictorial for the Android Taap.it! Also, I will blog about the differences shortly.

At the tippity-top of our West 35th headquarters, Taap.it hosted the NY Creative Interns for a night of hiring companies looking for interns.

The creative, the ambitious and the talented ready to enter the work force had the chance to mingle with a network of corporations, focused on finding entry level jobs for recent college grads. Everyone from MTV to Razorfish had a table. 

It was a storm of pitches and thirty-second introductions. 

We also got a chance to hear from the wonderful keynote Reb Carlson of 360i talk about risks, opportunities and her way to the top!

Tonight: Taap.it is hosting the Third Wave Fashion Meetup for a panel of speakers and MORE mingling.

An Interview With Andrew Calagna

Just so we can prove how easy it is to taap, we've made a quick and fun pictorial guiding you with a step by step process of how to taap. Really, this takes about 20 seconds, and that's with a slow connection.

Taap.it Version 1.2.4

Greetings, faithful followers of the taap.it app! Now, I know we've been on the downlow for a while now, but of course, the reason is none other that we've been trying to improve the app, add more features and iron out all of our glitches. It's still a work in progress of course, and we always need your help to add new content. So for that, I would like to take a moment to thank you all for your hard work; we can't do it without your taaping it! But that aside, today I'm going to be blogging to you about the newest taap.it update. We have tons of nifty new features that really make the app more organized and intuitive. We'll start off with the week's leaderboard. As you can see, we've kept it the same! ... That was a rather anticlimactic statement, but I think our leaderboard was just fine before; there was no need to change it. It was simple to understand: there was the "your ranking" category, which showed your ranking on the leaderboard, and the "trendsetters" category, which showed the top taapers.

Next, the "Discover" button. Based on your location, the taap.it app will find products and services near you, whether it be special deals, food, housing or even events. These products are now categorized as Deals, Shop, Housing, Food, etc...

So let's you've chosen what you're taaping. Now what? Now, you taap it of course! By touching the orange "taap.it" button in the middle, you will be presented with a list of items near you. If you don't see what you're looking for, you can also add a new item altogether. Also, if your location is incorrect or if you just want to change it, you can! Just move the pin to your location on the map when you are prompted for a location. Rating, commenting and taking a picture of what you're taaping will give you 5 points each. Of course, don't forget to add who you're with and share on your social media platforms; they'll both give some extra points as well. Finally, the section with the largest changes: the news feed. As you can see, this is entirely different from what we used to have, yet it is so intuitive! You can tell what category item is getting taaped just by looking at the icon on the divider. To the left of the divider are the people who are taaping the product. To right is the actual product. Right below it are the ratings and comments of the first person who taap'd the product. Easy peasie, right? It gets better! When you scroll through the feed, a small blue popup will hover over the page telling you how far away the product is, and when it was last tapped. Pretty nifty, isn't it?
