What did u mean by sungjong is the most underrated member especially after yesterday?
well sungjong is the member that is always forgotten. people talk about him for like 3 minutes at maximum and make it about the other members all over. yesterday was infinite effect advance day 1, sungjong had his solo stage. (1 | 2)
he practiced, when he was stuck in tonga, by himself. he performed, and i might add with no problems, after being probably jet lagged as heck.Ā he cried during the concert, and sungjong never cries in public unless itās really really hard for him. people didnāt bother about him crying. they were more talking about the fact that myungsoo patted his head and dongwoo hugged him or so.Ā
he was seriously depressed in 2013, he even mentioned it himself. Ā during an interview, i think, he said he skipped meals but fandom didnāt even react.Ā
on instagram heās getting hate comments by a person who wishes him dead and other than a handful of inspirits didnāt react to it, sayingĀ ānbg, heās not gonna read it anywayā. but the second itās another member, be it sungyeol or anyone else, fandom goes berserk.Ā
he has such a nice voice. soft and soothing yet people tend to ignore it and attack him, saying he canāt sing (which is the biggest lie of the century but okay?)Ā sungjong gives SO much fanservice, and it doesnāt matter whoās fan youāre holding, he just gives and gives and gives and never takes.Ā
fandom reducing him to his oldĀ ādiva maknae lemon candy sassy girl group coversā sungjong is literally so ugly. he matured, he grew up a lot. as my friend mentioned it, sungjong has to constantly prove himself no matter what he does.Ā
why is it, that he gets send to any show whenever thereās a rumour involving him but when itās another member they can continue their normal schedule? why is it that sungjong has to deal with tons of hate for no reason?
do you remember the way inspirits flipped every stone because sungjong got more lines and others lines got cut down because of it? in all honesty, sungjong deserves more lines than he ever gets. i donāt get why the rapper line gets more lines than the vocal? donāt get me wrong, i like dongwoos & hoyas voice but i just donāt see the logic? if they sing let sungjong rap?Ā
and did you know that sungjong was sent as a replacement for woohyun to law of the jungle? sungjong wanted to go so badly even way before, yet he was sent as a replacement. if woohyun wouldnāt have had another schedule, even that wouldnāt have been granted sungjong.
and as much as infinite loves sungjong, always giving him the punishments, making fun of hisĀ āfeminineā facial features and what not is not Ā okay. it doesnāt matter if itās hoya saying it or sungyeol. in showtime he gets constantly pushed aside/ cut out, even by the members themselves. they cared about food more than about theirĀ āchildā.
at least you tried.

I am no way a good editor in photoshop, but I couldnāt not post something for his birthday, the second one since their debut. (Yet it still feels unreal they debuted at all. I donāt know if Iāll ever be able to realize they are actual idols now.) I hope he will have a really nice day heāll spend with his friends or family. The pictures were taken by Seoul Pop Bop, thank you for letting me using your pictures!

Alright, so Iām Korean and people want me to comment on the whole Seventeen situation so I will. To clarify, I am not a Seventeen fan nor am I a Seventeen anti. Theyāre just another group for me.
First: āMa Naegaā is not dialect. It is nonsense. Iāve seen people trying to deflect this by saying it means something but it directly translates to āMa I Amā and does not mean anything in the dialect of S.Coupās region so unless heās saying āMother I amā fast and while dropping he first syllable of āmother (umma)ā (which he isnāt and wouldnāt make sense in the situation anyways), he really is just saying Korean words that sound like the N-word and thatās why the other members are laughing. And no, heās not referring to the Mama awards.
Is it true that ė“ź° (āI amā) and ėź° (āyou areā) sound like the N-word? Yes. Does that apply to this situation? No. So thatās unfortunate and I feel very disappointed at all the people who are suddenly fluent in Korean and deflecting this. Iām even more disappointed at fellow Koreans who are defending this. You know damn well what he was doing. Itās a common ass joke amongst ignorant teenage boys who listen to hip-hop and know they canāt say the N-word but donāt exactly know why (which is why they use Korean words). Y'all are desperately pulling these excuses from your ass.
Now on to Seungkwan. Thereās good news here, because from what I can see, he didnāt say the word.
He was singing āI am what I am, my girlā but because of his accent, āmy girlā came out sounding like āmygurā which sounds like the N-word, but in fact, that is exactly what a Korean accent sounds like. If we are just learning English, we canāt roll our vowels, so āgirlā ends up sounding like āgurā or āgullā (L and R are the same in Korean[ć¹]). Itās why on shows, idols who are supposedly fluent in English are told to say words like āAppleā or āGirlā to āprove that they are fluentā. Being able to pronounce these words correctly is very difficult if you are a native Korean non-fluent English speaker. To try and hold him accountable for his accent is just cruel. He really canāt help it.
I understand that people were upset and you have EVERY SINGLE RIGHT to be upset (and I apologize on behalf if you were triggered), but this one (Seungkwanās) is a misunderstanding. S.Coupās thoā¦he deserves to be flamed a bit (flamed, not threatened). I hope he apologizes.
So yeah, there it isā¦
@jolbyjo
First off, I just want to say that @jolbyjoā has done an excellent job at clearing up Seungkwanās case.
Secondly though, I need to correct her and say that actually, āMaā is in fact, a Gyeongsang-do Dialect (the region that includesĀ Daegu, Seungcheolās hometown, and Busan), which is very frequently used among Gyangsang-do Dialect speaking people.
Here is an example:Ā Jungkook from BTS is from Busan and here is a short clip from Weekly Idol of Jungkook doing an alarm in Gyeongsang-do dialect.
What does āMaā mean? It is incredibly difficult to explain its meaning since context plays a whole lot in its use. Mostly, it is used between close friends that can be translated as the satoori version of āYah!ā. Iād like to describe it as a more aggressive version, something like ādude, or buddy/yoā in English.Ā
And as most of you know, āNaegaā (I am) and āNeegaā (You are) arenāt dialects but they are Korean words that sound like the N-word.Ā Does that apply to this situation? Yes, it does, because by saying āMa, naegaā, Seungcheol is referring to himself going to the MAMA awards.
Literal translation of Seungcheolās MAMA acrostic poem: MA: Ma, naega Ā Ā Ā Ā (Yah, I am) *NOTE: He is referring to himself, so yes, it is used appropriately in context
MA: MAMAae ganda aiga Ā Ā Ā Ā (going to the MAMA awards) *NOTE: He IS referring to the MAMA awards
Seungcheol DID NOT say the N-word, and he did not intend to make it sound like the N-word either. The members are laughing simply because Seungcheol is using the dialect, and he is trying to sound tough. Busan/Daegu satoori (dialect) is associatedĀ with portraying āmanlyā images, and that is why the members are laughing, NOT because Seungcheol implied to say the N-word.
I initally didnāt want to involve myself in this issue because I thought it was going to die off. As a native-Korean speaker, I was able to understand why this problem arose fromĀ both Korean/International viewpoints, but the situation is going out of hand and Iām personallyĀ feeling hurt at all the comments at Seungcheol and Seungkwan and I had to something about it.
Hope this clears up the confusion. Please spread this text post!! Ā
Me flirting: you're really ugly, I'm glad you liked my potato
Okay literally what the fuck was this episode. What. The. Fuck.Ā
when will ur faves love each other as much as apink doesā¦
