We don’t use ‘switch’ as a position. Unlike most smut roleplays, our masters are not automatically tops and our pets are not automatically bottoms. 

If you have a look at the Positions page, you’ll see that no matter whether you are a pet or master, you can choose to be a versatile top/bottom, which is something like a switch.

We also have positions such as a Service Top (which is a submissive top), a Power Bottom (which is a dominant bottom), etc. You can very well be a master and yet be a totally submissive bottom. Your status in the house and your preferred position in bed are two very different things here at the Lair!

Does this directory accept characters with gender types that fall outside the norm (transsexual, shemale, etc.)? If it does, are the members even interested in a character like that?

Yes! The game is to catch any ‘random’ bunny, but the ooc rule is to catch the bunny you’ve been assigned to :) so, in IC terms, you would be chasing your bunny as if it were a random choice!

Fair enough, but the problem with that is that they don't know where your favoritism lies, and this is a smut roleplay, so it's a pretty big part of the theme for people to know who they can go to for smut or not. So it's more or less a necessity to list that, at least on your about page if not sidebar.

I think the reminder should extend to more than just sexual preference. Only one member visited my askbox after two plotting requests and a reblog from Yunho. There are 37 people in the directory, and my dashboard seems like it's just the same small group of people talking to one another. It's pretty demotivating, especially since they're all guys and (mostly) gay. Every welcome message I give out mentions my interest in plotting, and I very rarely receive more than a "Thanks!" in response.

This is unacceptable, guys. Especially because I know for certain that Jessica makes a huge effort to welcome all of you.

I need to mention that there are male-only directories where you can pursue your bias for guy-on-guy if you really cannot stand talking to females that much.

However this directory is a co-ed directory and it’s very unfair to not plot with someone just because of their gender (that’s discrimination, by the way); especially since smut plots are not the only ones you have to do here.

Let’s show some maturity and get past these habits, okay?
