Relationship With Parent(s)

Her relationship with her parents was perfectly normal and healthy, Masao and Sumako were good and lovingly with her. Mako adored her dad, she always spent time in his workshop for the little that is known but her love for them is not to be doubted. Up this day they are still in her thoughts.

With Sensei ...their relationship may look a bit rough on the edges, specially because of what is seen in the movie but it's obvious they respect each other and both care greatly for the other. In those grim times when both lost everything (Mako lost her family and Stacker his copilot at the time since it's already states in Tales from the Year Zero that he lost his parents at an early age too and his older sister died during the first kaiju attack.) there was some encouragement between them and he helped her through.

They are the only family they had left.

Favorite Hobby(s)

Repairing an engine or watching one getting repaired, it makes her feel relaxed in a way hard to explain but perhaps is the process that keeps her mind at peace.

Collecting artisanal swords is another, back in her room she used to have plenty of them displayed on the wall!

Favorite Person/Friend

As for favorite person no one can beat Sensei in that place, he is number one in her heart. It was said in the special features dvd that the golden color used when Stacker make his entrance after defeating Onibaba represents him as a savior, the knight saving the princess.

For Mako, he was her knight until the very end.

Though Raleigh can't come in second here, he is her knight too and the first person she showed her heart to.

Number Of Family Members

As for blood relatives none of them are alive but she was in a family of three, from his father's side of the family the contact was cut due the way they were with Mako's mother because she had two miscarriages and they didn't approve the idea of leaving the Mori sword make tradition to a girl.

Stacker as her legal adult is all he had during many years, in citta she has yet to deem people close in that way but Tony is the closest she has as that kind of figure. Though she considered most people back in the Shatterdome as part of her family too (i.e. Newt, Hermann, Tendo, Herc, Chuck...)
