she was strolling aimlessly. everything felt kind of hopeless but she tried not to think too much. she wanted to scream and cry but instead she put on a brave face and went on walking. what was she doing in life? was she happy? was anything really working out in her favor? too many questions and no answers. as soon as a thought popped up she just walked faster, she just couldn’t handle it. the cold october air hit her skin and at least it was better than sitting at home. olive had never been close with her family so she couldn’t come to them and she didn’t want to bother the few friends she actually had. she worked every waking hour just to be able to live. rent, food and all other costs were rough. she never bothered to ask for help because it wouldn’t help. she was so used to going through it alone. so she walked and walked, and hoping that her mind would stop.

she had listened to the message about a million times, just making sure she wasn’t crazy and making things up. but it was always there in the background, her voice. it was too early in the morning to be someone else. if he would’ve been at work or in the fucking grocery store, then a voice could be explained but 6 in the morning? out of a quick decision she got into her car and drove to him. she spoke as she was pounding on the door, “ i know you’re in there! “ maybe the other girl was out of there but she knew there was hours until he would go to work.
