you know, when i see all the collected quotes of oscar isaac and john boyega talking about how they slipped in all the moments/ touches/ expressions they could for the sake of the stormpilot/ finnpoe fans, and they both made a point to be extra in the hug... i cannot help but be reminded of unfortunate thoughts that i’ve been trying to suppress since jan 2016, s1 of SH. you know, the ugly truth is that both matt daddario and dom sherwood did the same thing for the sake of jalec fans. (NOW TO BE CLEAR, OSCAR AND JOHN ARE BASICALLY HEROES FOR TRYING TO GIVE US REPRESENTATION IN A BIG FRANCHISE and this post is in NO way dragging them- i am just pointing out that the same exact tactics can be used to accomplish both very good AND very bad goals). 

ok i mean, go and watch literally any of jalec’s like 15 hug scenes, or like any of their half dozen dying scenes, or any of their 4 “any excuse to roll around on the ground together” scenes, or any of their like 100 “ my parabatai” proclamation scenes, and try to tell me that matt and dom aren’t doing the absolute MOST in literally every single one of those scenes, from s1 right thru to the 3b finale end. blatantly slanted writing and blatantly slanted directing only goes so far, i mean it’s high time matt and dom were held accountable for their acting choices too. 

ok, now do i think either of them ship jalec? of course NOT. but you can’t deny that they’re both very insecure and very sensitive men. (remember when matty whined in an interview that some online troll mocked his fitness. you know the same matt that has literally thousands of people actively lusting after him, yet the one troll shook him. i’m sorry but that was so funny. like look in the mirror, pretty boy lol. it’s like when amber heard said it was hard being so pretty. white people, man. they’re so soft cuz they weren’t hardened by having to grow up facing racism i guess. but matt is tall, so ripped, so pretty... yet so insecure lol.)

anyway, like i was saying they don’t ship jalec, but they also have a desperate need for attention and positive strokes from everyone, at all times, completely regardless of the cost of that. and that’s why matt was out there in every single interview batting for both teams- malec and jalec. he was just constantly giving favorable commentary for both, in the same sitting, giving both the sides some nice quotable remarks to repeat incessantly. playing both sides in order to keep both sides, and therefore receive love and adoration from both the malecs and the jalecs (which makes up the vast majority of this fandom). it’s just selfish...

and as for dom, well he obviously knew that neither his character- nor clace- were the fandom darling, cuz matt was bestowed that title from day one, when he strolled in with his height, his charm, and his far more interesting character. so dom knew he had to hitch his wagon to the fan favorite, in order to get his desired attention. alec was where all the action was at. (kat did the exact same thing, hence her talking about matt and/or alec in literally every single interview and live stream she ever did from 2015 thru this year. but since hers was VERY one sided, and only her perpetually hyping up clalec and matt at every second, with no reciprocation from him in their scenes or in interviews, that’s a different issue. remember in the fall 2017 comic con when she said clace and alec were doing whatever, and matt stopped her and said woah, no that’s you guys, i’m not any part of that... iconic lol. and at same con when specifically asked who else besides canon they’d romantically ship their characters with, and she just went on and said clalec, and matt was like hold up... MESS! like if people want to like kat, fine, but can we please stop pretending she’s sweet and innocent?)

anyway, as always thanks for reading! i’m very sure at least some of y’all are glad for this truth talk, even if you don’t feel brave enough to say so. love you :)

Locked Out.

Summer was where Derek could go freely and do whatever he wanted. He could go skateboarding and smoke weed, get away from his abusive home life. At the time he had one or two friends, or more so acquaintances since all they did was smoke weed and barely talked. His mother was naive and thought they were friends, or that’s what the excuse was. For the most part, Derek would be outside, skateboarding, or stuck in his room. 

The one afternoon that he was out on July 23rd was the same day that his father found his stash. It started with his father walking past and seeing the disgusting state of Derek’s room. He was going to scold Derek to clean it, but went in and picked up some trash only to snoop and find his weed, along with porn. His father was more furious about the weed but kept his temper in until Derek came in later that night. 

Derek was making his way to the stairs to head up, until he was yanked by the collar. Shoved to the wall and pinned with his father’s arm on his neck line. Nothing new there, but Derek honestly didn’t do anything to make the man mad for weeks now. “What the hell is this Derek?” The harsh tone of his father’s voice echoed as he was shown the bag and his pipe. 

“Th-that’s not mine.” Derek stumbled over his words, until the arm turned into a tight grip of the man’s hand. From previous beatings, Derek learned that he couldn’t show any emotion, he couldn’t show that he was weak. Every encounter was a cold stare and just letting the beatings happen. 

“Bullshit, I found it in the disaster of your room.” The man spoke again as he pushed Derek down to his knees. A swift kick to his side had Derek groan in pain. Then the pull of his hair happened and he was dragged closer to the basement door. “You want to smoke trash, and feel like shit. Here you fucking go.” The door was opened and Derek was brought to his feet only to be shoved half way down the stairs. “Learn your lesson” 

Looking up, the shadow of the door closing had Derek get back to his feet and rush up stairs to stop it. But he was too late as it closed and the click of the lock happen. He started to pound on the door hard, calling out for his father. “DAD! DAD! Don’t fucking do this! Please-” He yelled out as his fist was balled. Pounding, knocking and then trying the handle as if it was magically unlocked. “I’m sorry..I won’t do it again. I promise-” Derek was crying out for the man’s attention for a solid two minutes. 

Their basement wasn’t in the greatest condition and it was just storage for the most part that collected cob webs. Derek kept his voice quiet after the cries and stayed at the top of the steps next to the door to hear the next foot steps. When he did, he desperately turned the door knob, calling for his father again. “DAD!” The door opened suddenly only for his father to stand tall and scary, punching Derek scare in the face, sending his tumbling down the whole set of stairs. He was trying to gain balance as he lifted up to his elbow. Looking up the stairs just to see the shadow of the father figure. His body was trembling and he couldn’t help but show the weakness as the words didn’t come out. 

“Shut the fuck up, you worthless piece of shit.” Derek closed his eyes tight to hold back the tears as the door was slammed shut. He finally got to his feet to pull at the string to the light. It wasn’t the first time he was called a piece of shit, or worthless. But he didn’t expect this level of violence or the fact that he was just shunned off in the basement for god knows how long. It all depended on when his father felt like opening the door again. 

Seeing some of the boxes, he noticed some of his older stuff. Pictures and toys from his younger days. He had a picture of him and his father, both in baseball shirts and hats but what he hated from the picture was the smile on his dad’s face. It seemed so fake to him now. How was this man different from the picture? What happened? He started thinking to the fact that his mother married this guy. Was she hurt as well? Did she even recognize or notice the struggle in the house? 

Tearing the pictures into pieces from frustration, Derek sat down in the corner after pulling out an old blanket from his grandma. His body ached, but what hurt the most was the idea of being locked away, being nothing to the man upstairs. He felt like no one cared and for the first time he felt useless, like his whole life was just nothing. Derek curled into a ball and started crying, tears poured out from the countless beatings, the emotional toll in his head, and feeling ultimately alone and worthless in the world. He cried himself to sleep that night and as another day past. Derek heard the door open. 

He didn’t believe it at first but he moved to the stairs with cautious. The light shining through had Derek concerned, scared. But he moved to open the door, soon moving to the kitchen to get something to eat and then to his room. After the events over the weekend, when he finally saw his mother Derek felt a little safe to see her face. Though the questions still ran through his head as she asked him. 

“So how was your weekend at Grant’s?” Derek lied to make her happy and moved back to the comfort of his room. From that moment on, he felt like a stranger in his own house.

Phone Call With Hector 2.15

It took Kaleb a while to get back on track, on a new path and what was shocking from what happened with his alcoholism was who found him. Hector did? Out of anyone he thought would admit Kaleb to the hospital the last person he thought was Hector. So he figured he would call the man and at least thank him. Once Hector picked up the phone, Kaleb spoke.

Kaleb: "Hey Hector, it's Kaleb Ulrich."

Hector: "He there Kaleb, um... how are you feeling?"

Kaleb: "I'm feeling better. Listen I know you and I have been trying to get down to the bottom of this incident and I'm sorry you had to see me like that."

Hector: "Look, it's okay. You were pretty out of it and it well.. it scared me seeing you like that. I was actually looking for you because I found out what happened"

Kaleb: "Well I was calling to say thank you. For helping me, I really mean it. And as for the information, I had confronted my dad about it and well lets just say I haven't talked to him since then."

Hector: "You're welcome and yea, I haven't been talking to my father either. From what I found out, my father set a car up to where she picked up the car and knew what route she would take and what time the accident would occur. I don't blame you for not talking to him. All I want to do now is take care of the company without my dad in the picture"

Kaleb: "Wow.. and this was both of their doing? I can't even believe all of this. And to think, my dad said he was just trying to protect me. What bullshit"

Hector: "Hey now, don't go out drinking again. I would rather not catch you in an alley dead."

Both of the men shared a laugh together.

Kaleb: "No I won't but thank you for clarifying all of this and as weird as it may sound. I had fun investigating with you."

Hector: "Don't get sappy on my Ulrich. We are still rivals, and you best believe I will own all the real estate in Upper East."

Kaleb: "Best believe I will make that deal with The Cummings family for that duplex. So watch it"

Hector: "Oh not over my dead body you won't. Then again, the Cummings family is terrible at auctioning and percentages."

Kaleb: "We can have a fair fight on who will win the duplex and loser buys dinner"

Hector: "Fair enough, better be saving a credit card off to the side now because it's on Ulrich. I'll talk to you later"

Kaleb: "Oh in your dreams Pierce. Later man"

Final Crystal Clear 2.4.2018

Every day seemed as if he was skating by, going in slow motion and nothing seemed to match up. Hector never liked to be wrong. He wanted the answers and when he came in contact with someone to track down the woman that Kaleb Ulrich claimed was dead everything seem to fall further away from him. The man was no help what so ever and Hector had enough of it. 

The man had cursed Hector out, and Hector doing the same out of frustration of no answers coming up. But the way that the man said ‘You and your family are bat shit crazy, I regret agreeing to help you ‘ stood out to Hector. Yes, this all started with him and his father hiring a woman to dig dirt on their competition, so maybe he was crazy. Maybe he was mad in the sense, and maybe the answer was right in front of him the whole time. 

But when questioning or getting anything out of his father was a mission in itself. His father was the prime example of why Hector wanted to be right all the time. His father was the type of secretive and cruel person that made you go insane with the unknown of it. For weeks now, Hector would be slipping in his questions and conversations with ease to get something out of his father. Nothing. Not a damn thing mentioned hinted or clued Hector in so that’s when he had to go to his source. The last person he wanted to work with, Kaleb Ulrich. 

It was sometime last week that he showed up unannounced at Kaleb’s job and wanted to talk. It was serious when all he wanted was to talk with the man. As the men agreed, they talked, Kaleb looked sickening. As if he wasn’t sleeping, and the man’s presence was a strong smell of cheap whiskey. When Hector was shown the business card with the note and how Kaleb’s theory of their father’s behind this, Hector feed in information of cameras that led to the stairs of the roof. Sadly they didn’t have rooftop cameras but they had cameras everywhere else. So as the two worked side by side, Hector gave Kaleb access to the security room and they were able to look at past footage with the time and date that was given from Hector. They zoned in on footage of both Hector’s father and Kaleb’s father. Kaleb’s father directing the woman who hands were tied behind her back and looked petrified. Zooming in more,Hector pointed at the gun that Kaleb’s father had in hand towards her.

They had to fast forward though, because what was said or done on the rooftop was nothing compared to when Kaleb killed the woman in the accident. Later on in that night footage both fathers walked down the stairs but this time Hector’s father had a hold of the woman and directed her. They followed the footage seeing his father and shove the woman into his office. Beating her up. The violence his father portrayed wasn’t that much of a surprise but it still wasn’t necessary. He looked angry, pissed. Shoving, yelling, hell you could almost see the vein that popped out of his neck in the footage. This was a lot to process for both Hector and Kaleb but with the date of this, they realized that this was two days before the accident. 

They watched the next few days in footage. Staying up late in the night together and having a few drinks together. As if bonding just for the purpose of knowing what happened. It wasn’t until the morning of that Kaleb asked who Hector’s father was talking to. Kaleb’s father came no where in picture since nights before. But Hector recognized the man as his father’s driver. Terrance Moore. But as Kaleb was rambling on with questions, Hector paid attention to the exchange made. Seeing a note being slipped in with a simple handshake. If anything Terrance was a part of this mystery. They called it a night and by then Kaleb was trashed. Hector guided the man to his apartment and let him crash on his couch. 

It was out of the norm of him to be kind, especially to his enemy in the real estate world but Kaleb was too out of it to make it home. 

The next day, Hector didn’t see Kaleb. Seemed he had woke up and left to get back to his place, but Hector got into his car and was quiet the whole way. Processing of what all he saw with the footage. Getting out of the car, he noticed Terrance getting out the keys and ready to make way to his car. Where he stopped him before entering. “Terrance hey, wait. I have a question.” Hector spoke up. 

With a nod Terrance was all ears. “Do you remember a woman by the name of Naomi Welch? I’m pretty sure you drove her around a few years ago” 

“Sir I don’t know what you are talking about. I don’t remember her.” Terrance spoke shortly and was heading into the car. 

Hector saw he was getting ready to turn the car on but he reached in and took the keys from him. “Don’t play dumb with me, unless my father told you to. What happened to Naomi August 21st, and what deal did my dad make you?” He questioned with a stern voice. 

He could tell from the expression that Terrance was filled with guilt, and he was debating on saying anything but with Hector’s eyes piercing through to him Terrance cracked. 

“I drove her to a car rental shop, where she had a car ready for her so she could leave New York.” 

After getting that information from Terrance, Hector found out what car rental shop. Hector’s motivation key to figure out what all happened and once all the pieces were together he went straight to his father. Accusing him of the set up of the car accident and all that was heard from his father was a chuckle. The words stuck in his head when his father said. It was a man’s job to fix it and you had nothing to do with it. Not everything is your business son.

Hector backed out of the office and started to call Kaleb. To tell him what happened, what really happened now that he had the answer. It sickened Hector probably as much as Kaleb felt. His brain was at a loss with what to do now that he had the information but the first thing he had to do was tell Kaleb. He couldn’t get a hold of the man so he started searching, entering bars and finding no trace of him. But every other bar mentioned a man off his mind and completely trashed probably walking the streets. At one point, Hector skipped his driver and just started walking, trying Kaleb’s cell phone and looking in every crack and alley way on his brisk walk. That’s when he could hear a cell phone ringing as he was trying to get a hold of Kaleb. 

Peering his head into the alley he ringing got louder, and the sight of Kaleb was there. Trashed and out of his mind. Then the man dropped. The sound of the bottle shattering had Hector running up to him, screaming. Panicking as he tried to wake Kaleb up. That’s when Hector quickly dialed the ambulance to get help as he noticed Kaleb’s hand cut up.

Too Blind To See 2.4.2018

This was going on for weeks now and the more information that was feeding into Kaleb’s mind, the more he overthought, theorized, and it was a dark space for him. He barely wanted to look at his father and after his all night footage session with Hector he felt sick to his stomach. The ironic part that he and Hector were determined to figure out together was shocking  in itself. How this time, Hector was being kind to him or maybe he was taking petty on him. 

Either way, Kaleb wasn’t doing good at all and alcohol was consuming him. He was barely functioning and he was a walking corpse at this point. The day after him and Hector went through camera footage, was when Kaleb snapped on his father. His father was playing cool, calm, and collected but Kaleb was done pretending. 

“How can you stand there and act like everything is okay dad? How can hide shit from me? I thought you and I were a team” Kaleb started to ramble off as he took a step towards his father with confusion written on his face. It broke his heart knowing that his father wasn’t telling him the truth. 

“What are you talking about Kaleb? We are a team. Son, look at me, don’t you trust me?” His father asked with concern as he brought a hand up to caress Kaleb’s face. But Kaleb slapped it away. 

“No I don’t trust you. You have been lying to me, you have been hiding something and you know about the woman that was in the accident two years ago. You know about her and you pointed a gun to her. For what dad!? What happened between the time you and Stanley talked and the time I got into a car accident with the same fucking woman that you were threatening!?” Kaleb spilled out.  

His father stood there chilled to the bone, not knowing what to say while holding back tears. “Yea, that’s what I thought. You’ve been hiding this huge thing from me and I have to pay the consequence? I have to bury myself with this guilt so you can walk around happy. I’ve felt terrible after that accident, I have told you so many countless nights that I can’t get over it, and what do you do, you show me to some AA meetings. Thinking I can get better. You focus so hard on my problems when there’s so much deep seeded meaning to it and it’s because I put all this blame on myself and mind doesn’t shut up. It doesn’t” Kaleb’s rant carried on, his voice on the edge of screaming, yelling, and yet almost crying out all at once. 

“Kaleb.. stop. Please son. I’m sorry. I was trying to protect you.” His father spoke as he tried to comfort Kaleb, trying to pull him in for a hug but Kaleb shoved away again. 

“Protect me by having some innocent person die under my blame, smooth. Father of the year should go to you” The sarcasm and venom mixed with the hurt in Kaleb’s face as he walked out of the office and got into a taxi to make way to the first bar he saw. 

He avoided talking to anyone on the phone and just drowned his problems drink after drink until the bartender caught him off. Where Kaleb cursed him out and moved on to the next bar to get some drinks. He looked at his phone finally and noticed some missed calls. Some from friends, and a few missed calls from Hector but he ignored every one of them and continued on the mission. But tonight seemed different from any other night he was drinking. No matter how much he drank, his mind wouldn’t shut up. It was like a horror movie in his head and his father’s words were haunting him now. I was trying to protect you. 

His vision was blurred, tunneled as he could see black around the corners and his focus was less on a face. At one point he misplaced his drink and it dropped on the floor. His eyes focused on the broken glass as if the glass of how the accident happened. Glass everywhere and his drunken mind wanted to touch the glass. To feel something, but the bartenders directed Kaleb up and out of the bar. He went to a liquor store on the corner and bought a bottle of Jack and at one point he turned down an alley and continued to drink from the bottle. Talking to himself like a delusional man. The horror movie still playing in his head as he was acting it out and at one point he turned and thought he saw Hector. 

But the picture went black and Kaleb fell to the ground. The bottle shattering in hand and cutting his hand in the process. Hector rushed over to Kaleb and quickly phoned for an ambulance since it was clear that Kaleb was suffering from the amount of alcohol consumed.

It started with sneaking files from the hospital. Finding out small information about the woman from the email. The woman from the car accident. The woman that haunted Kaleb’s dreams. 

He barely ever talked about the accident. Only few people knew how Kaleb really felt and it was only his half brother and Walker. Even then, he still bottled most of his emotions behind it. The guilt he felt, how he blamed himself every day and what had seemed to spiral down to his alcoholism. Kaleb had a black hole in his chest from this. For Hector Pierce to say this woman was his cousin, or related in some way was outlandish. 

Kaleb had to get to the bottom of this. So he got her medical records. Found her name but it wasn’t enough. Something didn’t add up with the fact that Hector said she was related. Why? How? It seemed that most of the answers were with the Pierce company and so Kaleb went in during night hours. Where no one was there but cleaning crew. With his computer skills he was able to hack into their system and find out how basic their code was to get into Hector’s office.

Searching the office frantically, he couldn’t find a trace of the woman. He looked on his computer and tried his best but whatever the mystery was, Hector hid all information. What he did find was a file on his computer under Stanley Pierce. Opening it up, he noticed bank accounts. Numbers, and as he scrolled further, the name of the woman. Clicking on the file, he saw the fake identity to have correlations with the Ulrich family. But that was it. A dead end for Kaleb in which he huffed at. 

But if this was under Stanley’s name. Maybe Kaleb should go to the source there. Reaching to Stanley’s office which was much bigger and had more storage, Kaleb started to look. The glow of the flashlight highlighting every corner of the office. This time Kaleb went to the computer at first. Cracking the password and searching through, Hector’s father seemed to be more secretive than the spawn of the devil. Then he went through the drawers of the files, looking through business claims, papers, going to the shelves and searching for anything. But nothing was popping up. 

The liquor that was sorted on display was about the only thing captivating at this time. Moving over to the glassware he lifted a glass that looked fairly familiar. It was one of his father’s glasses, looking under to see the design it matched perfectly. It was only another piece to this mysterious puzzle. But maybe a lead. Kaleb went back to the desk and looked through the files in the drawers again. He looked through twice, three times even. Pulling out every single file and leaving the drawer empty.

However when looking back into the empty drawer he noticed a paper fold on the side. Pulling it out, it was a business card with his father’s writing on the back of it. Judging by the image and information of it, the card was a couple years old. The same time around the accident. The writing said, ‘let’s strike a deal 1 am rooftop’ with his father’s initials. Knocking on the side of the drawer and then the bottom, a piece popped out. There was an extra file at the very bottom.

Looking it over, Kaleb read the dates and what properties were made around this time frame. Turning over the pages, he saw the woman’s file. Her files, her fake identity and then photos of what seemed to be someone stalking his dad. As he looked through the photos some more, the woman came in sight with his father. As if they told a story. The photos spoke of her and his father, but there was anger and confusion on his father’s face. Taking photos with him, and the business card he put everything else back and locked up before exiting the Pierce building. 

When Kaleb got to his apartment, he kept looking through them and in the haze of his alcohol induced mind, Kaleb knew why Hector said she was related. She was a pawn to get to his father but now the question still stood, why was she in the car accident.

Sleeping on it, the following day Kaleb was at his father’s building. He was sitting with his father as he had a drink in hand. His father was celebrating a new purchase and Kaleb had a blank face. Studying his father as he sipped it gingerly. 

“Kaleb, what’s wrong? Have you been going to your AA meetings?” Robert asked with much concern. 

“Hm.. oh no. I haven’t. Haven’t been sleeping much either.” Kaleb answered as he looked back up to make eye contact with his father. 

“You should get help son, maybe I can set up a therapist for you. Some people don’t AA and maybe it’s not for you. Hector hasn’t been bothering you has he?” Robert questioned further with a sip of his drink. 

Kaleb swirled his glass, looking at the same design that he saw on the glass in Stanley’s office. “As a matter of fact he has.” He was short with his answers as he was still working through his thought process.

Robert shook his head as he turned to take a sit in his chair. “I’m going to have to talk to Stanley. Make sure he puts his son in place. You always get rattled from them.” 

“And you don’t? We both have been at war with the Pierce.” Kaleb questioned. “They get to us in the most vulnerable spot.” Glancing back to his father, Kaleb continued. “Did you know that the woman in the car accident was my cousin?” It was a lie he told just to get a reaction from his father and as he read the body language, Kaleb noticed that sunken look. Robert was trying to cover the shock he felt from hearing such things. “She must be from mom’s side of the family I guess. Judging by her records. It just sucks though, that we didn’t have a proper burial for her.” 

Still, Kaleb was swirling the glass in hand. Taking note of how his father gulped down the rest of his drink and finally spoke. 

“I didn’t know she was related. I didn’t know at all until your mother contacted me and by then it was too late. The accident had happened and your mother doesn’t want to give any other information. She’s still emotional from the loss.” The cover story was weak to Kaleb. He kept his emotions blank as he bowed his head. Taking a moment before standing up and setting the half full glass of whiskey on his father’s desk and saying. 

“I bet she blames me for this loss. At least she can show some loyalty right?” 

There were still missing pieces to this puzzle, and Kaleb was ready to find out more. More so to find out why his father was lying, what was behind all of this cover up and sadly some of those answers had to be found with Hector. As much as Kaleb hated the guy.

January 9th, 2018 - The Email 

When getting the attached email from Hector, Kaleb was skeptical on opening it. He always was when it came to Hector Pierce and his ways. The two men loathed each other. They didn’t care for one another, they thought so little and wanted the other to go up in flames per say. So after debating on opening the email or not, Kaleb closed down his laptop and carried on his day. It wasn’t until the next day that he finally looked at the email and what was attached. Pictures of the woman. 

The same woman that was in the car accident, that Kaleb killed and it had information. The basic information at least but it didn’t make sense. How was she related to him? He looked over the information twice, three times even and than read what Hector said along with it all. Looking for someone? 

This was all setting a fire in Kaleb to make Hector shut up. The last thing he wanted was for the past to be brought up again and him spiraling into an even deeper mess than before. All of this was confusing, so after working at the company, he drove to the Pierce building. Going to the level and barging into Hector’s office. “Do you care to explain more in depth of how you got this information?” Kaleb questioned, though his voice more so demanded it. 

Hector shook his head at Kaleb and only smiled, living in the fact of how boiled up he got Kaleb. “Who the fuck is this girl Hector?”
