@omniishambles . three runaway kids almost get in a car accident
Eleven didn't really have a plan when she escaped from the military facility on the outskirts of Derry. She knew nothing but the cold, hard walls of the laboratory and the occasional stroll across base, which allowed her to catch a glimpse of the world. Pieces of sky and a whole lot of concrete. But now, she was out. And she didn't know what to do or where to go.
Derry wasn't safe. But the woods were, or at least a small part of them, near the reservation. And so, she slept there. It was uncomfortable and cold, but it was away from It.
The only times she dared to brave the town were when she was hungry. Her grey sweatpants and sweater were a little bit grimy from the dirt, but she looked normal enough to slip unnoticed into Derry's general store. It was going out that was trickier, but they'd never managed to catch her, yet. Eleven was fast.
She was running across the road, her arms full of boxes of cookies and biscuits. Eleven didn't want to get caught, because then they would call the police, and the police would call the military, and they would drag her back to base and force her to look for It. Eleven never wanted to see It again.
In her hurry, she didn't notice the car until it was almost too late. She froze in the middle of the road, dropping all her boxes on the ground, her eyes wide like a deer in headlights. Stop, she thought. The car stopped abruptly, with a loud screech.
