Jenny liked to think she was someone nice to be friends with. But the children that frequented the nearby park in their San Francisco home didn’t seem to think so. And Daddy Apollo especially taught her that no, they didn’t deserve to be turned into snails just because they screamed and pointed at her for teleporting in full view.
Guess she’d have to find a friend somewhere else then!
She liked the friends her daddies used to save the world with -- they were practically honorary aunts and uncles to her -- and she trusted Mdinighter and Apollo’s taste in people. But she also wanted a friend she would get along with. Maybe not that old too. Surely there was someone out there in the whole multiverse like that.
It was like whispering a wish out into the vastness that is the multitude of worlds and timelines, and finding a string visible only to her eyes. It snaked through many doorways, singing the promise of the friend she sought out.
So Jenny followed.
