Y’know what’s funny, Centaurworld & TDAC have fundamentally the same finale!

Both involve the main characters (Horse & Pomni) going in the main of the main villain through their heavily mutated body & seeing what made them who they are.

The only difference is that Centaurworld uses it to explain how The Nowhere King came to be whilst not excusing him & giving everyone else equal amounts of screen time.

TDAC just gives a shitty sob story for a character that no one really likes & leaves the significantly more interesting/complex characters to rot.

Guess which one executes this idea better.

genuinely have been thinking about it recently, hotdiggitydemon and gooseworx are going through the same controversy lwk.

Cause hotdiggitydemon basically wants to kill himself because he has this chronic pain disorder thing that he can’t afford to help with unfortunately. And he talked about it online, and everybody on twitter was like “good” and “kill yourself then we’ll be happy.”

why? Because he made two racist artworks ten years ago

he has clearly changed as a person and I don’t like that people are encouraging somebody to kill themself over something they’ve improved over. Yeah it’s totally wrong but he took accountability for it

and then ppl are digging up stuff from the past for gooseworx and the va’s for tadc, and they’re getting accused of being racist and stuff.

which yeah, I don’t see what’s so funny about a word that sounds like a slur…

but nobody got mad at gooseworx or the va’s (except for like POC tadc fans)

I’m not sure if gooseworx apologized, but what I’m confused about is that how come hotdiggitydemon is getting told to khs over something he’s grown and apologized from and that people are still calling him racist, yet gooseworx gets a flash of backlash then everybody’s like, “shut up it was 7 years ago and they already apologized”

I feel like I’m going crazy but am I the only one who thinks this may be a double standard…?

Idk I may be, and I’m scared to post this since I feel like people are gonna dig up stuff from my past and throw it at me someday.

now that the digital circus last act is out, did you see it or not? If so what are your thoughts for the finale?

I saw it on YouTube. It was serviceable, not the worst finale in the world but not the best. It was disheartening to see Gangle, Zooble, Kinger, and Ragatha be so underutilized. You can easily cut them out of the finale and wouldn’t miss much of importance. It would’ve cool to see each of the circus squad individually help Pomni out and guide her to Jax’s mindscape then all together pull her out when things get dangerous.

The strongest part of the finale is how everything from the previous episodes become full circle, making the audience’s time feel valued. The animation and music as usual is stunning. Jax having the most focus in the finale makes sense as we didn’t know much about him. However, I wish Gooseworx had this same energy with Ragatha, Zooble, and Gangle.

In the finale, we as the audience got to see Jax’s first perspective and fully raw experience when entering the circus but with a character such as Ragatha, someone who is similar to Jax, gets an exposition dump about her family troubles in the bar. Gooseworx doesn’t need to milk the show but I do wish we have gotten more overall exploration and world building. Other than that, I enjoyed my time with the show. In retrospect, I overhyped it. The Amazing Digital Circus has its own flaws and issues. But now that the series is over, I can finally make AMVs surrounding it.

100 Jax fans vs realizing the difference between representation vs harmful stereotyping is narrative framing and quality of writing bro.

Like Jax being a trans woman who does bad things isnt the issue, its the the show treats it as absolving her of her actions and an excuse. We werent given quality writing that showed all the nuances, just Jax being dangerous for cis women to be around a tacked on trans confirmation scene.

Thats not representation thats just perpetuating harmful stereotypes, all we're missing is pedophilia and she's all the things transphobes fear monger.

Another thing I strongly dislike about TADC is that the characters never actually interact with each other much and its only one on one conversations with the same people... bro what

Pomni interacts with Jax, Ragatha (barely), and Kinger. I only recall one moment Pomni had a personal conversation with Gangle, and that was in episode 4

Kinger has never properly had a conversation with anyone except for Pomni and Ragatha (kind of makes sense because no one else knew he was sane in the dark)

Zooble never talked to anyone except Jax (out of annoyance) and Gangle... I never saw Zooble ever interacting with Pomni except for when Zooble was hiding, or probably even Ragatha. Its always Gangle, bro. Yes I get you love her soooo much but I think you need to chum up with the others individually too

Gangle was close friends with Ragatha but they also barely interacted...? Literally no heartfelt conversations in any way, especially knowing that Ragatha is meant to be the emotional support to everyone in the cast

Jax is the only who had memorable interactions with more than 3 people, (not with Kinger tho, if you exclude the merch video) whether positive or not

Am I the only one who thinks it's a little weird how in Goose's hypothetical Post-transition Jax, she has a new design to accomodate her gender identity? While Zooble pretty much has to live with the fact that his body is just a bunch of junk and has to just accept that as part of herself?

Like, if I was Zooble and the person who was transphobic towards me got to have a cutesy new look after coming out while I was stuck with a body that I was unhappy with and had to learn to accept it as it is, I'd be livid.

No but really it's a weird decision, and I do think it's another example of Goose just not thinking her story through or any of its implications.

Thinking about it, I'm almost glad that hypothetical isn't canon because what does it mean if you can actually change your appearance in the Circus? That undermines Zooble's whole arc (what little there is), or alternatively if it's ONLY Jax who's allowed to do that, what's the internal logic there? Is she somehow more deserving of the ability to change her looks?
