@notamailman hit the heart for a Luna starter.
“I always wondered what it would be like to die.”
She smiled fondly to the man who sat beside her, atop the hill in Ottery St Catchpole Luna had always loved, with their legs crossed. Her fingers making idle work of threading together a daisy chain.
“I was rather hoping to see my mother, is she here?”
Unnaturally wide eyes turned to him, wide with wonder and whimsy as she draped the chain around his neck and fastened it.
hc + family (Luna)
Luna is very much devoted to family. Even before Pandora died on her seventh birthday the Lovegood’s were insanely close. Since she died however, Luna has severe anxiety about her father dying and leaving her to, she idolises him for the simplest reason that he is the only person who has loved her irrevocably and encouraged her to be herself since the day she was born; even accepting the imaginary creatures she created to cope with the loss.
Let’s face it, Xenophilus was hardly ready to raise a young daughter on his own so I’m positive Molly Weasley, who was surely friends with Pandora since the Marauders era, visited regularly with care packages and helped keep him alive and grounded enough to keep living.
This is why, when Luna has her own family with Rolf and the twins (Lorcan and Lysander) she spends so much time with them (despite being unsure on how exactly to be a good mother). She loves those boys more than anything on the planet and would have deliberately stayed away from the more dangerous creatures in her magizoology career to save them from going through what she did.
Honestly, I can see her teaching them how to handle creatures and telling them stories of her good friend Harry Potter and how a house elf stopped her from giving up when she was held captive at Malfoy mansion.
To sum up. Luna is extremely family oriented in her own haphazard way and is probably one of few of the golden trio era that tries to keep in touch and keep them the family they became during the war.
