the tower was certainly one of the more quieter, and dare he say, more tranquil parts of the castle that skyhold had to offer despite the amount of people that came and went. considering they had to share the tower with a vast library just a level below them, people were just generally quiet as they entered the space and spoke in hushed whispers if they had to. simon quite enjoyed the vantage point that the top level offered, as he could often be seen leaning over the railing, watching the people below.
if he ever bored of talking to the other spies or the ravens, dorian was just a short walk away. if he fancied himself some ale or a game of wicked grace, the bull's chargers were just the company to offer that at the herald's rest, though it wasn't too often that he found himself escaping from his perch. his solitude was a peaceful one.
however, what DID disturb his peace was the sudden shrieking of several birds and double the sound of panicked flaps of several wings. their cages rattled with their movements, an empty one even toppling over. a big, orange ball of fur could be seen springing away from them in fear, balancing precariously on the same railing the rogue had been leaning on before the feline decided it would be a good idea to leap over it, surely to meet his doom if he had not yet met it the last eight times already.
quick reflexes allowed ghost to immediately reach out and grab the cat by the SCRUFF before it could fall three stories below. heads in all levels turned to the source of the commotion, it made his skin CRAWL feeling so many pairs of eyes on him so he pulls the cat back over the right side of the railing before even more gathered.
❝ what the fuck...? ❞ he holds up the cat higher, slightly closer to inspect. ❝ spymaster, this thing yours? ❞ he asks as he held up the cat for leliana to see from across the platform, his ferelden accent thick with annoyance.
