out of everyone in the keep one of the few people willem felt like he might actually be able to relax in front of was arryk. while most might tense up in the king’s presence, willem had always known him to be his best friend. of course with everything happening he treaded carefully with what he said. “arryk?” he started before quickly stopping, trying to word this right “you know your......um.....how do i say this.”

“for some time there was some resentment towards him, how could there not be? she was not only my sister but my twin. but he had little say in a decision his father made for him as well. in the end there was little he could have done.”

“i  think i would be crazy to think arryk is not attractive. yes, i had been attracted to him when we were younger. maybe i would have slept with him when we were young but now i’m not sure i could.”

“….yes. a long time ago when i was a boy and i was very confused about who i was. arryk has always been a true friend and now he is more of a brother to me.”

“oh....well. i don’t know how to even answer a question like this. emeric is the husband of my cousin and not to mention the best friend of my betrothed. arryk is the husband of my queen and good friend. how could i ever consider either of them? so i suppose that leaves branden for everything else.”
