“Oh, character growth. We love to see it,” Jared didn’t even look up as he cut him off, still scribbling down notes.
“Jared. I’m.. okay, I’m like.. actually serious about this. I don’t want to.. start shit or anything, you know that. I just still don’t get--”
“Mhm. I know. You don’t get a lot of shit, dude. So I don’t really want to talk about it.” This time he paused his notes, even if he didn’t look up. It wasn’t hard to decipher what Evan was going to say--or bring up--and he really didn’t want to talk about it. “If it’s not broke I don’t gotta fix it. Y’know?”
