Teeny tiny reminder that in Robin’s canon she can make clones of herself with her powers. Therefore please consider your muse(s) surrounded like this;

— With the newest episode out, I am once again reminding you all that Robin’s fight with Black Maria was just to show off her new abilities in the story & if she fought like she has 99% of the time before, Maria would have been dead in almost an instant.

For example: All those extra hands Maria caught with her webs? Disappearing and reappearing faster than she can keep track of, maybe with a palm strike to shatter her jaw.

A giant clone blooming from Maria’s back instead of right in front of her to break her neck, spine, or her arms to make her drop her weapon.

Giant hands breaking Maria’s fingers before she can even put on her brass knuckles or pinning her arms behind her back along with her spider body to keep her immobile.

That fight was beautiful with the new moves and I loved incorporating them into my interpretation, but it was just not a good indicator at all of just how fast and deadly Robin can be and has been shown to be in the past. It showed a lot of strategic mistakes that she just wouldn’t have made if Oda’s intention wasn’t to draw out the fight in order to show her Demonio form. She’s a tactician, and there were way too many mistakes that were sloppy and out of character for her in the beginning of that fight.

TL;DR: I’m satisfied with her new moves, but not the way they were showcased.

I just think he could have done it in a far better way that highlighted the ruthlessness and speed that makes her so deadly while also showing off her new abilities. Though, then again, maybe if he did he wouldn’t have much of an excuse not to put her on the front lines anymore.

Robin can lift the weight of a goddamn horse with her powers you can’t tell me she can’t really fly for longer than a few seconds

— Ok so we’ve seen Robin use her powers underwater which, by all OP logic, should be completely impossible. It’s 100% a testament to her strength - but I digress. Please consider an enemy ship in shallow enough water that Robin can just bloom hands from the bottom of it like a hand stand and then proceed to iust yEET it into space. While Jester’s strength is something to be in awe of and that he’s competent as a magus, however his true power lies in that of his shadow.

His shadow is capable of being controlled and extending towards others like a weapon. It can also devour a body and turn into a skeleton in moments and return to Jester in a bright red color.
