“I… I’m not… I’m not lying…”
she spoke out softly, as if she was afraid to make her voice to loud. as if making it louder would be more obvious that she was falling a- part. it was part of the job, sometimes dinosaurs got sick and even she couldn’t save them. sometimes, the died. and this was one of those times. she was heartbroken, and standing like she was try- ing to keep herself together, but deep down she was falling apart.
she felt like she had let the little one down.
“i’m.. i’m fine… totally fine…”
yet her voice sounded broken, body wrapped up in her own arms like she was keeping herself together. a mess of emotions wrapped up in a shell of a woman. she couldn’t save the dinosaur, now they were dead. she tilted her head away from owen so he couldn’t lo- ok right into her face. just in case the tears that were trying to esc- ape her eyes decided to come out.
